Well, it's almost that time of year again. The shops have been getting their early Christmas stocks in, Christmas lights are going up, and mebbe we've got our eyes on something that we'd like to receive or something we'd like to give. Whatever the signs are, Christmas is coming up soon. This means that we've got to get the Furtopian Christmas Gift Exchange (FCGE) up and running.

So, if you're interested in participating this year, all you have to do is post here that you can do it, if you're willing to send overseas or not and some gift ideas to help who ever you're assigned to with your gift.

Then PM Kada-Ru your physical address.  These will be kept private except for the person that is sending you your gift exchange. As usual, spend about $5 but if you wish to go over that is up to you. You can find out what your exchange likes either by looking at their profile, their post here or contacting them and asking what types of things they might like.

Once the names have been matched, your address will be sent to the person that is sending you your gift, through PM.

Because of problems in the past, for those of you who live in the US, when sending out your present please get delivery confirmation (or tracking #) for the shipment.  This is about 75 cents at the PO.  Then send this tracking number to your exchange and Kada-Ru. This is good for 2 things:  1. It shows that you have actually sent your exchange and 2. that it is not your responsibility if it gets lost in the mail, etc.

Minors must have parental permission to participate in this event as they must give their home mailing address or PO Box address for gift. We do not require proof of parental consent, but please do not abuse this as it could cause problems for you or for us.

It is the member's own responsibility to provide correct and up to date information on where they live and where they want the gift sent to.

If you want to join in but KNOW you can't afford to send anything, DO NOT say that you can.  This only looks bad on you. It could also keep you from ever participating again.  This is done on the HONOR system.  So, please, let's make this year's exchange an awesome one by joining in and sending your exchanges. ^_^

And of course, the most important thing of all...  Have fun and enjoy!



Important Dates to note;

The deadline for participants is the 5th of December.
You will then have 10 days read over their post and arrange a gift for your assigned Furtopian.
This means that you have to mail the gift  by the 15th of December so that it'll get to the recipient in good time before Christmas.

Ah, okies!  In general, anything furry is great!  Pics of my fursonas Alexandre and Digby would be great (I'll edit to add references later).  I also love literature, so poetry and books are cool; they can be from others or your own work.  Also, anything that makes a person say "What the...?" would be great; the more random, the better.  This is especially true with shirts (I'm a medium). 

I think that's it.  There's really nothing I wouldn't accept.

Thanks Alex! It came today after my wisdon teeth removal. It was fun to try and guess what was in it. I'll post a picture of everything later. Still alittle out of it from the surgery. How did you know I liked cowboy flicks and musicals? Clever fox. And you picked a musical I've been meaning to watching! Kudos! :3

I realized that I forgot my camera at school, so might not get pictures of what I got for a while. Oops.

DAY 2: Jaw doesn't hurt all that much actually. I thought it was a doozie to recover from since I've read tha people get hopped up on vicodine for it! Maybe thats what makes people feel cruddy. Pretty sure vicodine and antibiotics is a little hard on the gut and system. My Mom only gave me tylenol and I'm right as rain. To be honest, it didn't take away the pain, but hey being able to have a pain threshold and deal with it is a good life lesson to know you have. Only took one tylenol today just incase it decided to flair up, but it didn't. The sites only ache a little, like they did when the teeth were moving but only constant. Pretty manageable! Bet I'll be FANTASTIC tomorrow!

Kada-Ru got me a book called Oogy: the dog only a family could love.  It looks really cute, and hopefully I'll be able to start on it soon.

Minokyoko:  WS got your gift yesterday!  I opened it this morning and they are fantastic!  Any idea what the medium was used that the lady carved the kitty?

I took photos of them.  Not to see if I can get most of my stuff to work on Ubuntu.  Yesterday morning I got on my comp to play a little WoW and things weren't running like they should.  So, I figured I would 'restart' it.  That usually works. Except, THIS TIME, I can't access windows at all.  WS was able to boot from the net so at least I have Ubuntu, which I never really used before even though it is installed on this comp.  I used it to play games and that was about it.  He is having me back up my important files onto his hd.  Once done he is going to try and figure what blew up.   Once 98 xp is working again I will download the images of the gifts and post them here.  Unless WS can get things working under Ubuntu.  Which would be nice.

Leidt - thanks for the p-awsome print, i'll get it scanned and posted here when my new scanner arrives.

the kitty was made from a type of clay/putty her husband makes for her, it was fun watching it being made.
