I think it's time to show some arts. I'm trying to do one sketch a day, so maybe having somewhere to get critiqued will help. I will start with my first anthro ever, and the first human I've drawn in like forever.

Ahh, giant block-y heads. Paws escape me, and she has tiny hands. Well, tiny claw things. Can't draw hands yet.

Again, hands. Arrrgh, I'll try to work on then tomorrow or something. Those are like, very noticeable. Any tips/links on how to draw hands would be appreciated. Shading in general isn't bad though, arms look a lot better.

Also, hooray for crappy phone pics! I'll have to hit up some garage sales for a scanner or something.

I like them both, and the only thing I really can notice is the fingers of the human's hand are a bit off. I'm not an artist myself, so I really can't offer any helpful advice beyond that single observation.

Other then that detail, I must say I am very impressed with your sketches. You should keep practicing, and hone your already abundant talent.

Hands! HANDS HANDS HANDS!!! I know all about hands. I was like "what's everyone's problem? Why do they not like drawing hands, these are easy," when I first drew one. Little did I know that was just one miraculous burst of talent that I had. Yes, that hand was easy, EVER other one so far has taken me a whole day. I just spent most of today trying to draw a fist, only to replace it with a weapon that covers the whole thing. The fact that your hands even look like hands is admirable. I commend you. Great job! Smiley

As far as links for hands, I got nothing. Now tips on the other hand, I got one of those. I've drawn a decent amount of hands so far, although most have been quite terrible. I have noticed though, the hand is easier to draw if it is grasping something. Especially the fingers. I can follow the object it is interacting with as a sort of guide to shape the hands. If that helps any? It's just something I have noticed. Cool

Thanks for all the praise/tips! I'm looking up links on how to draw hands at the moment lol, so hopefully I should have a piece of paper covered with hands to show you later today.

We can help any time you ask.  One thing about
hands you can always look at your own in a mirror
for different poses.

Keep trying different poses to work on perspective and
body structure..

It was getting late, I needed to go to bed, and I felt bad for not doing a daily sketch yet. So I filled a sticky note with critters! I spent a minute or less on each one. I was pretty much challenging myself to see if I could make something look like an animal without using any reference pictures. For some reason all of my animals have big butts though.

A WiP of my first digital piece! I did it on my phone using an app I got and my phone stylus. I kinda ran out of room on the head, which is OK because I'm not really good at heads yet and I'm tired of drawing things looking one direction all flat-like. I need to work on doing more straight forward views and 3/4 views. ignore the blue lines, those were my outline sketches. I messed up the layers, so I can't get rid of them without redoing all the details. I'll get to that when I have more time.

A few sketches of faces and legs and a hand (following Jet's advice to have it holding something. It was a bit easier). I was trying to draw more of a side view on the faces, and was trying out a few different styles. Still don't quite have the hang of it, but as usual I didn't have any reference pictures. I should look at some and see if that would help...

And eventually I will actually ink a picture and get it cleaned up some lol. I want to get something looking awesome-ish before that though.

Whoa, Arlesey, I like your sketch from the 14th quite a bit. I know it's just a rough sketch, but it looks cool the way it is, with the sketchy lines and the striking blue and orange. Smiley Have you considered trying for a finished piece in this style?

Your doing ok.  If you want some help on items like
heads or other parts just ask.

Post a drawing of the item and we can give you some
pointers for improvement if you wish.

It's better to do this in Artwork Techniques as artists
usually go there for help or to offer it .

Artwork announcements is usually for finished sketches or drawings.

Keep up the good work. Bunny

The second layer of fur on my weird dog! I remembered to add the other legs this time. I think I'll work on either more fur or the details like eyes, mouth, toes, etc next.

Gryphon thing! I'm proud of this one. Those little feathers took forever to draw. Beak is a little big and the feet look weird (as usual), but other than that it doesn't look to bad I think.

And because I know I'll be bored tomorrow, feel free to give me two or three animals and a few colors you'd like to see and I'll whip up a fancy critter for you.

I think I'll take the first three, for now.

1. Orange and yellow rabbit for Arbutus complete
2. Green and blue wolf for The Wise One complete
3. Red and yellow dragon for Mylo complete

Okay, because I got here first and I am a predictable little rabbit, now you have to draw one of my brethren. Wink Orange and yellow, if you please!
