Mr. Aspex tries to improve his current drawing ability
« on: August 03, 2014, 11:58:53 pm »
Hi. I'm looking at improving my art, since I feel that my proportions and shading are not up to par, and what better place to improve than here?

For starters, here is a picture of a sleepy lynx that I drew in GIMP as a test.

Cheers to improving,

Aspex

PS: Feedback and criticism would be greatly appreciated ;)

Full of broken thoughts...

It depends on what style your going for. But it's a pretty good job for a
cartoon critter.

You might define the ears a bit more. The inner part of the ears
usually turn outward or forward.  As drawn they appear to turn
inward.

Keep up the good work. :orbunny:

I made this fursona drawing on GIMP for Evilo, a Furtopia buddy. I do have to say that this is one of my better works, not only because I chose a cohesive coloring scheme, but that I didn't cheat by using a vector graphics program first to make the outlines. Also considering that I did this at 2 AM, I consider it pretty good.

So, I realized that (through the help of some IRC friends) holding the tablet pen with my hand awkwardly when drawing. I held it differently this time with my avatar WIP, which you can see below:

(I also found out how pressure sensitivity works on my Wacom tablet :D )

I can't wait to finish this up and show it off on the forums. :3 Thoughts?

EDIT: Finished up the drawing! *squeal*

Nice one hehe <3 . I'm sorry I've been busy I didn't even get the chance to thank you here for making me a fursona ^^.
