[You can be anything you want in this role-play. You can be someone foreign to the place of interest and you just so happen to hear the rumors and/or experienced a kidnapping and are willing to help, you can be a youkai slayer, investigator, reluctant kidnapped child, worried parent that's possibly out for revenge, you can be a youkai, YOU CAN BE A MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURE FROM ANOTHER CULTURE (like dragons and unicorns, so don't fret! I'm sure Unicorns have an affinity for nomming on children! -SHOT-), anything. Whether you're good, bad, neutral is all up to you. Not all youkai have to be bad, not all slayers or investigators or children, etc have to be good.]

There have been numerous accounts of children leaving a village and never coming back. In the beginning of the possible kidnappings, the only children that happened to disappear were bad children--and the first account was only dismissed as a runaway. The obedient children happened to stay behind, and some had claimed that their misbehaving siblings had woke them from their slumber, telling them about alluring music or beckoning calls, before having vanished from the house completely the next day.
Now, GOOD children are disappearing, as well. The large village is in HYSTERIA, and are afraid to lose anymore of their precious citizens. It's up to you to find the culprits--the accused 'youkai' kidnappers--and bring what's left of the children back.
Are they on the mountains? Near the harbors? The forest?
Are youkai really up to this? Are they eating the children are just keeping them because they bring them joy and lighthearted fun? One may never know, but it is said that youkai do indeed have a peculiar taste in the flesh of younglings.

There's a lot of youkai here, as you can see. But not ALL youkai are on here, like the Waira and Nurikabe (which two of my characters are). Just look up more on Google, of course!}

As for my characters:

Gender: Female (yes, it's a she.  Don't ask why, but I like making characters look the opposite of what their gender REALLY is LOL)
Personality: Isamu's personality is almost void of femininity, and she's definitely one to rush into things head-on without any thought. She's proud of her brute build and vocal abilities, using them to her advantage to pummel and startle her enemies, and has no form of remorse whatsoever when it comes to subduing her opponent. Really, the only way to decipher if she's a female is by her speaking voice (or if you just so happen to stumble across her in the nude, which is likely to NEVER happen unless you're PURPOSEFULLY stalking her--which I doubt anyone WOULD wanna stalk this woman). Her voice is almost like an ironically calming growl, however; so even still her gender would probably be debatable.
As for more positive attributes, she's loyal to allies if she ever GETS any, which is rare because she has such a repelling charisma. She's also much more jolly when she's drunk, and she drinks on most occasions--but then drinking isn't always the best thing, and sometimes she can get a tad loud and start unintentionally hurting people. And though she tries to hide it most of the time, she actually has a bit of a bashful side.
Oh, and even though Wairas are supposed to like eating moles, she's terrified of them. That's one of the few things she actually fears, other than being defeated or losing her voice.
Story: There's not much to say about Isamu, other than her tomboy stage started from the day she was born on upward. Hence why she has a masculine name. Her parents, which were just a brutish, were proud that their girl was strong and brave. She was also remarkably loud back then, too; so loud that the mountains they lived on would shudder at her 'war cries' even when she was a toddler. Her father carved out a necklace for her to symbolize Isamu's vociferous nature. And that's about it. She just continued to train and be strong like her parents wanted her to be, and maintains a loud, thundering croak.
Abilities:
- A loud enough voice to knock people back
- As strong in her muscles as she is with her voice. Her brawn is phenomenal, but her thinking? Not so much.

Name: Fuzu
Species: Nurikabe

Gender: Female
Personality: Fuzu isn't much of a fighter, but she knows she has to do what she's told. She's somewhat timid, but stands firm on what she has to do to make who she's working for proud. And in the process of making her employer proud, she gets money--which gets her what she yearns for the most: melonpan. She loves that stuff. But, if someone who wants to get past her happens to have melonpan and is meant to be kept out, she'll let them pass anyway, and just dismiss it as an accident. That's the only exception, though.
Story: Fuzu was born in a tiny village occupied by Nurikabe, of which only Nurikabe could enter and stay inside unless business was to be made. Her parents weren't too rich, but they did run a bakery--and her favorite of their foods, of course, was melonpan. She was and still is obsessed with it, and would often get in trouble by sneaking into the shop and stealing the melonpan that was meant to be sold to buying customers. Eventually, Fuzu was tired of being caught taking her parent's source of money, and tried making her OWN melonpan--only to end up burning down the whole village.
She was then exiled forever, and can only BUY melonpan instead of mooch off of her parents, now.
Abilities:
- Her tail can unravel and act almost as a giant, unmovable wall
- Despite the rumors that Nurikabe disappear if you kick at their bottoms, Fuzu isn't quite like that. Instead, she'll just let you pass if you give her some melonpan.

Name: Vilesworth
Species: colubrine sea krait (sea snake)/Mexican mole lizard
Gender: Female
Personality: Vilesworth is completely merciless, and lacks patience, tolerance, and pity. She does not take kindly to things that do not appeal to her. If you just so happen to LOOK at her with hard eyes, she'll call it injustice and most likely try to behead you. She's also very condescending and crude, degrading anyone who just so happens to make themselves look inferior in her presence.
Story: Vilesworth always took things seriously, even when she was little. Unlike children who would laugh if their little block towers fell, she would throw an utter FIT that her creation had crumbled, and would go into a serious rampage. When she grew older, her tolerance was just as thin, and eventually, her tolerance came to a halt completely. She can no longer tolerate most things, and WILL retaliate to 'injustice' with an iron fist. But now, in her older years, she has managed to take things and bash them with a ridiculously calm demeanor.
Despite her complete intolerance of even the littlest things, she has indeed gained a good amount of popularity as a 'hero', and does in fact control her own unit of powerful vigilantes that just so happen to track down and dispose of people who have oppressed others a great deal. The way she disposes of enemies usually varies, but either way, it's usually a highly disturbing method.
Abilities:
- Because of her mercilessness, it takes her no time to consider if she should end it all, or not.
- She is experienced with weaponry, preferably blades.</sup>

Name: Moon (Or Wise)
Species: Wolf
Gender: Male
Personality: Determined, most likely to never give up. Will always look for an answer to something if it doesnt make sense. Tends to pursue into the unknown. Can sometimes be in denial when he is wrong (Which he almost never is) Most of the time is stern and serious, but can be fun and playful at times.
Story: Always had a knack for adventure since he was small. Ran away from home at age 15 and began traveling around the world. Developed a knack for taking care of himself instead of others.
Abilities: Great deduction skills and "Street smarts". A vast knowledge of ancient scrolls and literature (as that is what he studies)

Jace Treewalker

Race: Panther
Age: 30s
Build: slender
Appearance: dressed in hides, wears his swords crossed across his back, and his ironwood bow across his back.

Other: Co-leader of the Harpers, a network of people dedicated to doing good. Best friends and bonded to Skye. Has a Longsword called Spark and another called Burn, and his Longbow is named Frost.

Abilities: Very strong tracker, awesome archer, especially on Skye's back. Knows some spells for wilderness use, but not many. Adept with traps, and can hide and sneak in plain sight in the forest.

Race: Roc
Age: 30
Appearance: BIG BIRD, like a normal, feral Roc [google them]

Other: best friend and bonded with Jace

Name: Shin

Gender: Male

Age: 1299

Species: Kitsune

Appearance: Standing at 5'10 with fur as dark as the night sky with just a bit of pink coloring going up along both arms in a twisting motion almost like it was wrapped around his arms. Long silky white hair with tips of pink and crimson hung down to his lower back in a braid. Upon his head that hung down in front of his light blue eyes was a leather strap with gemstones on it with at the end a violet stone with a kanji engraving on it [not putting clothes as they change cause of his illusion powers]

History: Born as a twin with his sister who unlike him with black fur she was born with light pink fur, growing up they were very close doing everything together. When they were around 12 years of age Shin ended up growing a second tail, a little unusual to have it grow so fast and people worried that the power may be too much for him to handle without something going wrong, he never worried but did notice that his sister was sad that she didnt grow a second tail like him.

He always told her not to worry her's would grow but, never did in fact at the age of 18 Shin began to grow a third tail making people worry, it didnt grow out fully just being a third the size of the other tail. Now people were wondering how this young kitsune was growing tails at an unusual rate...as he began to get violent because of it now. Attacking people for no reason or disappearing for weeks at a time...his mother grew worried as did the sister who was starting to get just a bit of her second tail to come out...one night though Shin finally snapped as he seemed to crave power..he attacked his sister...the moment he landed the final blow upon her he snapped back into reality to see what he had done and become that he didnt know what was gonna happen till he was banished off the mountain he grew up on.

After the death of his sister and the power growing further inside of him he began to grow pink around his arms making him remember his sister..he finally snapped once more his mind shattering into three pieces. Having this short of multiple personality syndrome going on where he could go from acting as an innocent child looking for comfort or friends, a trickster who loved playing games on people shapeshifting even to cause the trouble just for the fun it brought to him and finally a deranged personality that loved causing harm to mortals...even setting fire to a village before. As he lived through the centuries the personalities struggled for control after years of living the deranged personality seemed to go dormant leaving just the kid and prankster behind...now hearing word of someone taking kids from a village he began to call home he had to wonder what was causing it

Because of the 'Youkai' in there? X'DDD To be honest, I didn't even base it off of Touhou, at all. I don't know much about Touhou, either, unfortunately. I only based it on the ORIGINAL youkai of Japanese mythology. <83c But I get what you're sayin'~ It does kind of sound like something from Touhou I guess. X'D

Yokoyama Megumi (or, for us westerners, Megumi Yokoyama)

Race: Spirit, Shiba Inu

Age: Undetermined

Build: slim

Appearance: as a shiba inu anthro

Other: a spirit of a girl that died a tragic death. Bound to this world by a collar of red threads, to which each end is affixed a red butterfly. Is usually silent, but can sometimes be heard singing (in Japanese),

1,2,3, hold your breath until you suffocate,
7,8,9, hold your breath again~

These lyrics usually creep people out enough so that they flee, so no more of the song is known.

Abilities: phasing through walls, vanishing, random floating about. If there is a spirit medium near her, or someone who can comunicate with ghosts, she can leave them messages.

OH GOD.
RAKSHASA AND CARCASSES. I-I love that song!! ;;;;;A;;;;; (The song the youkai are actually singing in the beginning of the role-play is a bit of a disturbing Hatsune Miku song, too. Called Tsuki no Youkai by Kikuo. This is what most of the role play is actually BASED off of, so seeing a character like this is REALLY great and even more so fitting! X'DDDDD)

And whatever you do, WHATEVER YOU DO, don't look up Kikuo's Vocaloid songs for the sake of your sanity (especially I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry's lyrics. Oh for the love of GOD, don't. 6A6;;; ). They sound REALLY cute and sweet and catchy, but the lyrics are just... -SHUDDERSSS-

And if you wanted actual suggestions, 'Chiri Chiri Juso (Dust Dust Curse)' video/song here (if you want the Romaji or English lyrics, just tell me) and/or 'Breaking Things Into Pieces' video/song here, AND 'The Grave-Sending Song' (this one isn't by Kikuo, btw X'D) video/song here are pretty catchy but creepy. But they're not disgustingly detailed like 'I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry'.
There's also an eerie traditional Japanese song called 'Teru Teru Bozu'.
I can give more suggestions if you want, if those don't suit you and you'd rather not make your own, but to be honest, there's a lotttt of eerie Japanese songs out there.

But of course, there's always the option of making up your own song to sing. Like in the most recent post I put, that's actually made up. X'DDD Just a suggestion, though. It's fun to test your rhyming skills every once and a while LOL, but it's sincerely up to you.
