Long story short: Father of the Pride is eligible for the People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy.  I know there's been talk about letters of petition and such, but something tells me winning an award (a People's Choice of all things) would be a better form of encouragement.

So please, vote.

What exactly is the argument of people petitioning against the show?

I read that NBC pulled it for the month of November because of sweeps week. Heck, as bad as thier line-up is they should have left it on. It's sure is a lot better than the crap they're showing in its place.
 I'll certainly go sign!

Wish everyone luck.
Generally, such write-ins do not work.  And in this case, the cost of the show is sooooooo high (north of $2million per episode) the network is not interested.  And the reaction has been so lukewarm, from critics and ratings, Dreamworks has stated they are not interested in continuing. '<img'>
BEST HOPE is that they will see all the support as a viable reason to release the entire series on dvd.  '<img'>

Well... As is the case with anything animated, there's always the Lapse-Catholic mothers claiming the movie/show aims to corrupt the minds of their children, but the letters of petition I'd been referring to were in favor of keeping Father of the Pride.  Right now, the show has been temporarilly pulled due to Sweeps Week as Sporty had already stated, but the assumption a lot of viewers have reached is that NBC does not plan to continue the series at a later time, so the fans are gathering their support in what are believed to be the early stages of the pulling process.

Sorry about the confusion.

So, in otherwords, network politics? *rollseyes*

Reminds me of the show "Forever Night" (or was that "Forever Knight"? ) and its demise '<img'>

Not politics.  Just ratings.
The "big four" networks need big ratings.  Cable shows need less.  That is why FAMILY GUY is a ratings 'hit' on Cartoon Network.  It is really getting about the same size audience it got on FOX.  Many don't realize a low rated show on NBC or FOX would be a top rated show on cable.
Heh.  Maybe PRIDE will show up on Adult Swim.  '<img'>

I voted. I can't believe they decided not to show it all November long.

This might come out the wrong way, but doesn't it seem ironic that a ground-breaking program would get temporarily (knock on wood) bumped so that a reality program about fat people could take up more space?
