Here is a popular speculation. If the world was, and always had been, occupied by anthropomorphic animals, how would certain things work. Sadly this is impossible (so far) So please respect others opinions. Here are my questions. 1. What do you think would be the most common furs? In the fandom I mostly see foxes and wolfs, so would they be more common or not? 2. Would there be racism against certain types of anthros? 3. What would carnivorous furs eat? Would there be a black market in herbivorous furs? 4. Would they have "skinnys", anthros would pretend to be human, and if so would they be discriminated against, like furrys are? 5. Would fursonas that aren't animals exist? (dragons, shrouds, azarin, etc.) 6. Would there be ferals, or would there be all anthros? 7. Would there be animals as we know them?

1: that would probably be the case since wolves and fox's are in Europe and north America those would probably rule those areas 2: through their history i would imagine that some of the species would think that they would be better than the rest creating racism 3: they would probably have live stock like cows or something. the ones that aren't furries 4: I'm not sure they might but i wouldn't count on it since they probably never seen one or even know what one looks like 5: i have to say no on this since those creatures are pure fantasy 6: i could see there being both, but ferals are like our cave men wild while anthros are more like the evolved version 7: there always has to be a form of animal along side furries it's not nature to have only one species (in this case furries) on the planet. if that was the idea then they all would be canables

1. What do you think would be the most common furs? In the fandom I mostly see foxes and wolfs, so would they be more common or not? Depends if we're talking if everyone who's a furry becomes one or if they already exist there. If they already exist there, I'd imagine they mostly be what would exist there as an animal to begin with, since they evolved and adapted to living in JUST that one area, not many others. So alotta foxes and wolves in northern USA and the UK, but outside of that climate not so much.
2. Would there be racism against certain types of anthros? Look at how much people get for being black, asian, latino, native american, etc. That will ALWAYS be there.
3. What would carnivorous furs eat? Would there be a black market in herbivorous furs? All the meat we already have in circulation? Chicken, Steak, Veal, Venison P: So I doubt there would be a black market, hell, that would likely be tabbed as cannibalism
4. Would they have "skinnys", anthros would pretend to be human, and if so would they be discriminated against, like furrys are? Rule 34. yep. and see above. yep.
5. Would fursonas that aren't animals exist? (dragons, shrouds, azarin, etc.) Outside of hyrbids from cross-breeding where possible I'd say no. I'm saying this treating each species like another race though. I'm Irish-Italian-Swedish-Native American, who's saying it couldn't be Komodo Dragon-Fox-Raccoon-Jackal or something like that, treated in a similar manner?
6. Would there be ferals, or would there be all anthros? I would kinda doubt ferals, from an evolutionary standpoint if you think of them being alongside normal humans in the process. Either from natural or artificial selection they'd wind up anthropomorphic over time, while retaining more survival based adaptations (although not as strongly as they started, due to reduced dangers to life)
7. Would there be animals as we know them? There would have to be, otherwise the food chain would implode on itself and a whole lotta nasty things would happen (ranging from over-oxidation of the atmosphere, to rampant growth of algae killing off everything with nothing keeping it in check)

1. the possibilities are endless, but if we all got chose, i see more with fur than feathers or scales. 2. unfortunatly...yes i do. unless we can put our mental capacity above such things 3. touchy one, here comes the pecking order of society maybe? dont even wanna think about that one. 4. hehe, probably 5. why not :p 6. i'd like to see ferals hanging around too 7. with ferals about, in my view, maybe not. paws

1. I would guess that the most populous species after humans would subsequently be the most populous anthros. 2. Of course. ((keep in mind that this is just a realistic prediction about the mindsets of sentient beings similar to humans...now, it's not a matter of race but species, each with their own unique needs and such)) 3. It depends. If anthropomorphic animals were around forever, it would be difficult to predict the values of said animals considering that there are several species of anthros. 4. If there are humans, then there will be those who imagine to be humans. There would also be anthros who imagine being other species of anthros. There would still be discrimination. 5. Well, you said that anthros exist, so why not these? 6. There would definitely be ferals. It's like, humans come from the apes, fox anthros come from the fox, and so on. 7. Yes.

i'd like to re-ammend my choices to something that i WANT and not what i think would really happen. i WANT to see personally. 1: Canids, but diversity is also good. other species welcome 2: not in my world, all would be accepted 3: Herbivorous to all to simplify stuff 4: for sure, cons and all 5: yes 6: yes also 7: no, but Ferals would probably take this role over

1. What do you think would be the most common furs? In the fandom I mostly see foxes and wolfs, so would they be more common or not? IRL: probably the most common animal in a certain area Fantasy: canines for sure 2. Would there be racism against certain types of anthros? IRL: look at how people are now, most likely yes Fantasy: less likely 3. What would carnivorous furs eat? Would there be a black market in herbivorous furs? IRL: i doubt a black market but yes they would eat meat, if not the carnivores races would either adapt or eventually die off Fantasy: probably herbivorous 4. Would they have "skinnys", anthros would pretend to be human, and if so would they be discriminated against, like furrys are? IRL: just like humans, anthros would fantasize about being humans Fantasy: more than likely yes still 5. Would fursonas that aren't animals exist? (dragons, shrouds, azarin, etc.) IRL: maybe not direct descendents(yes i believe in mythical creatures) but from crossbreeding yes Fantasy: definitely yes 6. Would there be ferals, or would there be all anthros? IRL: just like theres human and apes, there would be example: Wolf anthro and wolf Fantasy: yes 7. Would there be animals as we know them? IRL: some but not all, but with a lot of animals that we know fully evolved or extinct in this world, there would be new species that either dont exist, haven't evolved, or havent been discovered in our world Fantasy: yes

1. Canines. kinda like Otters in Space; the world is run by Canines. also Otters. 2. most certainly yes! 3. it depends. would the "un-anthropomized" animals be the meat, like some chickens & cows? would it be rude to eat steak infront of an anthro-cow? 4. theres the possibility! 5. if this was based around real world animals, then nope! but maybe somebody could breed a bird & a reptile... 6. THIS I AGREE WITH. 7. possibly. cats owning dogs or vice versa would be awkward. but then again, ponies own dogs in a certain world... *ahemcough*

I haven't seen a thread like this before anywhere, and I think it would be a good idea to start one. This thread is here to let furs discuss about what life would be like filled with anthros. This isn't here to say that your idea is a wrong or bad idea, as everybody has there own opinions as to how there own world would run, it's more to have others help discuss I guess to start, I'll put up a few of my own questions. - Would breeding be similar to the way it is in real life, or allow all caution to be thrown into the wind (rhino and a dingo, for example)?
- How would pants manufacturers deal will making different tail sizes between something with thinner tails (mouse or rat) versus much thicker tails (otter or kangaroo)? And what about anthros with oddly shaped or angled tails (rabbits)?
I have quite a few more, but I think these two do nicely with starting it off. (Also, I'm not sure if I have this topic in the right place or not, but "Furry Fiction" seemed to be the best place to discuss a fictional world filled with anthropomorphic animals.)

As "Furry Fiction" seems almost exclusively for writings, rather than discussions, this may be moved to somewhere like General Furry Discussion or Furry Lite or something. But I will answer your questions. I think that pants would be made with buttons, multiple buttons, on the back for tails. You could button three if you have smaller tails, or none for the larger tails. OR pants would be custom made for individual anthros, as I know some are ten feet tall and others are very very small. As far as mating, I dont think it would stay within the realm of their species. Anthros act as humans, and thus there would be inter-species relations just like there are inter-racial relations. I do think that they would remain within their relative species though. Dogs would be with other canids, not usually branching off to Rhinos or Kangaroos, for example. I also want to bring up one more thing. There would be no Humans and Anthros together in one world. There are cave drawings, from a long time ago, depicting humans in their primitive state. Spears and arrows. They are depicted eating, and fishing, and hunting like normal. But along those images are pictures of these very humans attacking pictures that appear to be humans with fish bottom halves, bobbing in the water. It also shows humans hunting these other humans, presumably killing each one till that species died off for good. This was some show trying to prove mermaids or something, but I think these images would be true for anthros. If there were another intelligent species on Earth, there is no way Humans would live peacefully with them. And if not us, then the Anthros, as they think just like us, would attempt to make themselves the only intelligent species on Earth. But this is just what I believe would happen. Furries of course would be ecstatic about it, but humans as a whole would wage war.

I think that for pants their would be custom made pants made for different species or a good idea as Jet said, pants with buttons for different tail sizes. As for breeding, I think that in general different animal families would stick to themselves like canids with canids and mustilids with mustilids. But because Anthros are also partly human I think inter-specie matings would be possible, just less likely of offspring. Interesting topic!

@ElementalQuest: Your thread (Post # 9) which was originally in the Furry Fiction forum, has been merged with Blackroses's thread (Posts 1-8) as it appears both threads are similar and can be combined to talk about what a furry world would be like. As "Furry Fiction" seems almost exclusively for writings, rather than discussions, Correct. The Furry Fiction forum is for posting anthropomorphic (furry) stories only.

1. I think that it would depend on where they are. If there is a large population of foxes in an area there would be more fox anthros to start with, but as they developed transportation (cars, buses, trains, ships, etc.) they where able to make the world more diverse (A meerkat would never meet a snow leopard in the wild, and neither would early anthros). 2. Sadly yes, only replace species-ism with racism. For example, everyone and there dog knows about how America was big in slavery, so instead of Americans trading African natives, you might have wolf and fox anthros trading hyena anthros for coin. 3. Carnivorous furs would eat the same things we eat. Cows, sheep, deer, whatever floats your boat. Though I wouldn't be surprised if a wolf anthro started drooling while looking at a cow anthro. Nor would I be surprised if a fox went on a killing (and possibly eating) spree against mice anthros because of there ancestors instincts. 4. I doubt it, because humans wouldn't exist. I think the closest thing to the "skinies" that you described would be anthros who shaved down there fur or wore latex skin suits, but it most certainly wouldn't be as popular as furries are. 5. Probably not, because they're just that, myths. You'd still have lizard anthros and horse anthros, but not dragon anthros and unicorn anthros. 6. Yes. What would the carnivorous furs eat? I doubt anyone would allow a wolf anthro to eat a deer anthro! Which brings up another point, wild animals could be dangerous to anthros that come from said wild animals prey list, so a fox might be willing and ready to attack a mice anthro. 7. Sort of. I don't think we'd have dogs the way we do, maybe similar breeds, but not like they are today. Wild animals, though, would be basically the same. This also brings up another question. Would dogs exist? And what about there anthro counterparts? Because an Irish Settler anthro has to evolve from an Irish Settler, which wouldn't have existed without outside influence (human interference in today's world). Did they breed Irish Settlers which evolved into anthros, or where Irish Settler anthos breed from other wolf/dog anthros?

I dont think interbreeding would be possible except between similar species. You know, foxes with wolfs, cats with leopards, etc. I dont doubt some furries anthros would have romantic relationships outside species, but they would probably not produce viable offspring. As for pants, I agree with jet, you would probably have to buy by your species or group. I do agree about humans and anthros not being able to coexist in reality. Humans (in general) beleive themselves far superior to other animals (cause humans are animals) that they would either attack them or attempt to enslave them. Then you would have anthro rights campaigns, and in general, just a repeat of integration that could take years to get around.

1. What do you think would be the most common furs? In the fandom I mostly see foxes and wolfs, so would they be more common or not?Generally, there would most likely be different species in different regions, where a dominate species would essentially control an area. Perhaps Wolves in one area, while deer would be in another, etc. etc. So it wouldn't so much be who's most common over all, but that there would be those who are simply more common in a given region. 2. Would there be racism against certain types of anthros? The simplest answer would be yes. 3. What would carnivorous furs eat? Would there be a black market in herbivorous furs? Most likely the un-evolved, similar to how our world functions, but possibly with different types of animals. 4. Would they have "skinnys", anthros would pretend to be human, and if so would they be discriminated against, like furrys are?(I don’t know about those skinnys, like, I saw one time on TV, that they go to these like, conventions and stuff, and do all kinds of weird stuff together.) 5. Would fursonas that aren't animals exist? (dragons, shrouds, azarin, etc.)If we are talking of the animals of Earth being anthros, then no, as they don’t exist now. 6. Would there be ferals, or would there be all anthros?Much like humans and apes, there would be those who evolved, and those who did not. It would be mostly impossible for a planet to maintain evolved life without such a balance. 7. Would there be animals as we know them?To some extent or another, I’d imagine that many of the un-evolved would be similar, though there could be a few differences. (different animals being extinct or not extinct, different evolutionary paths etc.) Would breeding be similar to the way it is in real life, or allow all caution to be thrown into the wind (rhino and a dingo, for example)?I think that’s more of a social / upbringing issue, as some would find such ideas ridiculous, while others would do anything with anyone. How would pants manufacturers deal will making different tail sizes between something with thinner tails (mouse or rat) versus much thicker tails (otter or kangaroo)? And what about anthros with oddly shaped or angled tails (rabbits)? That’s what tailors are for, as for modern day cheapo mass-manufacturing… buttons, Velcro, or neodymium magnetic clips should work to adjust sizes within a certain range.
