I maintain a backyard tomato patch each year. Then make BLTs with the produce collected.
Trail camera photography.
Because of the trailcam, I was able to detect a fox making regular visits to my backyard. At first, she was seeking the bunny kits. Later, she sought out the treats stashed about the yard. She had to compete with the rabbits, cats, raccoons and possum who also enjoyed a marshmallow or two. By viewing the photos in sequence, one could tell the fox was coming soon.
So I had a "pet vixen" for a time, though she never approached me directly and remained a wild fox.
