I just entered a contest for my company. Grand prize gets to go to one of the largest truck shows in the country (and possibly enter a truck for competition showing), along with cash and other prizes. They take the top 10 video submissions on Youtube based off public voting on the "Likes", then the company chooses the top three winners. To help me out, go to the video I link at the bottom to watch my ugly mug talk about me, my life in trucking, and about the truck itself. Like it to help me out, but they don't count dislikes. So don't bother voting down the competition because it wouldn't matter. Thanks

I'll let you know more and you can let me know what your plans are  and background. Then I could ask my recruiting dept if  they would look at an applicant in your situation.

yeah that's the worst thing. i'd HATE to be the 'foreigner taking all the jobs'. i know what it's like, but you never know. i'm still fairly young so i have plenty of years to get my butt to the US for an extended stay.....even if Grizztof wants me to stay forever hahaha.
that thought is tempting but i dont think i could ever properly leave my home 

That sentiment is usually directed toward illegal migrants working for less than minimum wage. I don't think many Americans would be put off by you being from Australia.

WhiteStorm, you're pretty much right. The main issue with TWP would be if our companies would recognize any foreign license when it comes to experience. Even U.S. Drivers new to trucking have at least had a normal license and know basic traffic laws. That would be a hurdle to deal with.

You can get international driving permits but I'm not sure if a company would accept that. Might be simpler to just find the state with the most easily obtained licenses and do something else until he can get one.

Well it looks like I'm #1 in likes now. Too bad that doesn't mean I'll win the top spot. Lol.

puts you in good shape at least.  I did look at a few of the other videos and they were pretty terrible.  Most of them focused a bit too much on the trucks and almost not at all on thrmselves.  Being that last years winners made it a huge point to tell people it was supposed to be a really personalized video,  That's not going to go over well.

Well as of right now, there's 5 entries with the deadline being the end of the month. There's a couple that I think would be good competition against me too. I currently have the most Youtube likes, which pretty much gets me in the running, but the actual winners are still picked by home office and not based on the likes. *crosses paws*

Sad to say I didn't win anything. There ended up being about 6 entries I think, maybe 7, and I'm not too surprised by the winner anyway. Maybe next time I'll do better.
