It's Earth Day. What are you doing to help the environment?

The GOP seems to feel the environment is doing fine.
The majority of Americans do not.

I have spent most of my life trying to save energy
by driving small cars, and turning off lights when not
using them.

I keep my house thermostat set at 60 degrees in winter
and about 80 in the summer.

I changed to led lights where possible.

When was in business I kept the thermostat there in
the 50's in winter, and 80's in summer. I used a
ceiling fans at work and at home. Fans use less energy
when trying to keep cool or warm..

A side benifit of saving energy is it's cheaper.
Also a cooler house in winter is more healthy in that
bacteria doesn't do well in temps below 70 degrees.
That's why it's always cold in hospitals.

So what do you do to save energy or do less polluting?

Even if you still live at home you can help by turning off lights
and other devices when your not using them.  Pick up trash
that is blowing around. Trrash is often harmful to wildlife.

I walk or take the bus to where I need to go. I don't have much of a choice as I have to since I can't own or drive a car due to bad eyesight.
At home, I don't have many lights or other stuff turned on because I like to keep my electric bill low.

A coworker and I save the plastic "medicine dropper" pipettes to reuse for hobby purposes. I save aluminum lemonade cans to use as .22, BB and pellet gun targets before recycling them. I've been repurposing 46 oz. steel cans (that Tomato Juice comes in) as DIY campstoves and bins for various sizes of cartridge brass. Finially, I pick up the cartridge brass I find, clean & polish, and remanufacture it into ammunition again--for myself and a few friends. I also save spent model rocket motors...
