Where would you like to travel in time?
« on: October 31, 2016, 09:05:30 am »
I am sure most of us would like to return to  some past event and
change it. To prevent an accident or win the lottery.  :D

It has been proven that time passes differently in relation to others
based on motion.

Travel in time is theoretically possible, but going into the past would likely
create paradoxes, so there is likely a physical law to prevent a successful
trip to the past.

Still though I am sure it would be interesting to  vist times and places in
the past. Or future..

Where would you like to travel in time?

Sorry Kobuk. I missed seeing your thread. I changed this one to
have people tell us where they might like to go in the past or future.

Other than short trips I would think if I had a time machin I would like
to see the ancient past. With dinosaurs, and other strange beasts.

I'd travel back to when I was 11, keep my grandfather around just a bit longer, truly have mastered karate with him.

Not spill my heart out to a former bisexual friend, who now acts like I don't exist and plays mind games with others, have higher grades and different friends in highschool.

But you can't go back, and technically I don't think there will ever be time travel like there is in sci-fi, as time is a tool created by man.

A way to archive things.

Not to change the past, but rather to simply view it and record what went on, I'd like to:

a) Watch Kennedy's motorcade as it went through Dallas on the day of his assasination. Maybe try to find out who actually shot him and from where.
b) Watch events unfold during the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.
c) Try to find out if the UFO crash at Roswell really happened during early July 1947.

would likely travel back maybe a year and possibly come out of the closet (in terms of sexuality not the fandom thing).

maybe things wouldnt have gotten screwed up if i took things a little faster than i did before...

but meh, if i got to chose i'd keep things the way they are/not go back in time. would rather be living the sad/depressing truth, than just go back in time, and cheat my way into being happy.

Back to the mid-1960s at Cape Canaveral so I can watch all the Saturn 1b and Saturn V launches in person. Maybe buy and stash certain items to recover later and sell when their value soars. Testors Control-Line Airplanes, for example.

I'd travel back to 29AD ("In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar") to see if this Jesus guy is for real.
Maybe have a chat with him and ask him to be more precise in his wording, and to lay off the word "malakoi" when condemning someone.
oh and maybe, just én passent,  bring up what his fanclub is up to in 1480.

Secondly I'd travel back to Norway 999AD to witness the battle of Svoldr, because I'm writing about it.

I'd like to travel to the future where technology is more advanced and space travel is more common.
