1) Nick spoofing can longer be done if the nick is registered. Take my nick for example, BrownLeopard. If someone other than me tries to use it, they will be asked to identify to NickServ. If they don't, then it will change their nick to Guest23452345 whatever.

Usage to register your nick is:

/nick thenickyouwanttoregister
(This changes your nick to the one you want registered)

/msg nickserv register password email@address.com <--THIS MUST BE A REAL EMAIL ADDRESS!!!
(this registers your nick with NickServ)

/msg nickserv identify password
(this identifies your nick to NickServ. This MUST be done within 60 seconds, or you get changed to Guest).

2) Channels are now registered through ChanServ, which allows Services, rather than a bot to op people. This is much more foolproof than the bot.

To register a channel, you must be an op in that channel.

/msg chanserv register password
(this registers the channel using the password, and thats all that needs done)

3)Registered nicks can send memos to other registered nicks via MemoServ!

/msg memoserv send nickthatyouaresendingto Hi, this is a memo blah blah blah etc
(this sends the info to Memoserv, so that when the person comes online, they are notified they have a message awaiting them.)

Anytime you need commands for one of the services, you can type:

/msg nickserv help            <--NickServ Help
/msg chanserv help            <--ChanServ Help
/msg memoserv help   <--MemoServ Help

Services have become a necessary evil on the network. With the amount of traffic we're seeing, we needed something in place to help out the ops that are there, and to make it more fun for everyone.

I have no idea! I didn't it was down as I don't use these. I will have to ask WS when he gets back from his trip.

If we ever get them back it will make Op-ing and HOp-ing a lot easier.  That and we'll stop having those insane "who's who?" moments that we usually have (with Zan XD)
