Ive been Listing to alot of Bluegrass and Celtic music latley, especialy on my long drives to and from school. One album ive been really enjoying has been Fiddlers Green by Tim O'Brian, Mostly a mix of the two styles and its reaally catchy, great to listne to when your driving along winding country roads looking at all the trees and fields. Ive also been listing to a band named The Fleet Foxes alot, the only have one album out right now but its really good, They sound alot like the beach boys meets Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. CSNY are an old folk band from back in the day for anyone who dosnt know. I really like how they sound, its an old style but they really make it sound fresh, great music to listen to in the morning Smiley. Also been really digging Pink Floyds The Wall, mostly just cause it rocks and i fell like ive been putting up a wall of my own lately and its been helping me tear it down so to speak. Also its just really enjoyable to listen to cause its so deep sound wise.

I love Fleet Foxes! They have a really wonderful sound, very sunny and relaxed, plus you can pretend they're furry-themed and no one will know any better. Wink

They also have an EP out called Sun Giant, which I actually like better than their full-length album.

mmhmm, thye remind me of animal collective a bit with there vocal harmonies. The title track from the EP was the first Fleet Foxes song I heard and i got hooked instantly, agian its good morning music lol if that means anything to anyone. Great to put on when you wake up and dont want anything to loud or intense but just some sound to help put you in a good mood and just sit around and drink tea and just get ready for the day maby watch the sunrise. Hehe yea maby i take music to seriously dont I? And yes you can pretend they're furry related lol but you can do that with quite a few things, not just music.

I've been getting into an electro rock type band called The Faint. I haven't got their new album yet, but Dance Macabre and Wet From Birth are pretty awesome. Hard to believe that kind of sound came out of Omaha, Ne. If you want to buy any of their stuff, I suggest going through their websit. Full album in 320K mp3 for $7, $11 I think for a CD.

I listen to all types of music (and I do mean ALL, though some not as much as others). Rock (hard, classic, soft, 80s), pop, classical, international, country, rap, hip hop... Those are the ones I listen to most. With Linkin Park, Offspring, Three Days Grace, Evanescence being my absolute faves.
Lately, I have been wanting to listen to more traditional world music, like traditional chinese, japanese music. But it is so hard to find that kind of music. I want that kind of music to help inspire me to focus on my D&D world. Chinese/Japanese music to help me focus on the land that is like those countries, Arab and Indian music (sitar, mostly), native american music, steel drum/carribean music, celtic music, etc. But I can't seem to find any of that music.

I love Japanese heavy metal! (Bands like dir en grey, the gazette, mucc, exist+trace.)
Whenever I tell someone of my less than orthodox musical tastes, I usually get an "whoa, okay." Or just *blink blink.* I had a friend how got me into it back in 6th grade.

And if I really want to weird them out, I also tell them I like Japanese indie goth metal. That really makes them stop and think.  Cheesy

My favorite modern artists are as follows in no Particular order:

The Smashing Pumpkins -
Nina Hagen - Crazy German Punk singer, Nunsexmonkrock is a phenomenally imaginative and beautiful album.
David Bowie - I've had the good fortune of seeing him live while touring for Reality. While I have over 15 of his albums,
Station to  Station, Man Who Sold the World, and Diamond dogs are my clear favorites of his work.
John 5 - A phenomenal technical guitarist who's been praised by such as Steve Vai. Crazy blend of bluegrass, heavy metal, and
               Industrial.
Utah Phillips - A folk singer! Beggining his career as a migrant worker and an organizer for the Industrial Workers of the World,
he's probably the best story teller of our time. His songs are about people, events, and ideas that should never be
                forgotten.
Likewise, he's gone, but not forgotten..
Pete Seeger - Another folk singer! You may recognize him for the songs Turn Turn Turn, You Are my Sunshine, and Goodnight Irene.
He was Bob Dylan's biggest inspiration and one of mine. His lesser known work lead to the Folk Protest era of music.

---------
Just a quick note on the Smashing Pumpkins. The first album I ever bought was Siamese Dream, which was purchased with my 11th birthday money. I've had that CD for half my life, and it's still one of my favorites. All the best and worst parts of growing up were experienced by me with Siamese Dream playing in the background. It's beautiful, thoughtful music about joy, melancholy, childhood, aging, losing yourself and finding it again. And that's what the Smashing Pumpkins have always been about to their fans- Music for the entire spectrum of the human experience. I'm very happy I found this band at a young age.

A little of everything really. But most often I can be found listening to some form of punk (hardcore and post-hardcore, and emocore [90s punk rock FTW!] ) or rock (hard or soft, metal, progressive, w/e else there is really), but I listen to everything a little.

Some of my fav all-time groups/performers are:
-Dream Theater
-Jimmy Eat World
-Coheed and Cambria
-Three Days Grace
-Death Cab for Cutie
-The Rasmus
-Jordan Rudess
-30 Seconds to Mars
-too many more too actually name...
