Well, looking things over, I think I can start sharing this here after all. While it will have some more mature scenes later on that I will not be able to post here, as of now, it's safe for general audiences. There is a little hockey violence, so maybe the very young should not be viewing it. It is not meant to be a humorous comic. There may be bits of humor that work their way in, but it is definitely meant to be more serious. Once it gets more mature the mature readers will hopefully have found their way over to the comic's DA page so they can read it as it updates there, not as I try to remember to do so here. And this way, I can actually get it out there for more people to read. The comic will be presented in "books," each consisting of one character's thoughts and reactions to life and events and such for a period of time. Some characters will have multiple "books" (this beginning book is Sebastian's Story, Part 1. He will have more parts coming up later). I have six pages uploaded so far. Updates will be sporadic. I can't give a schedule, because I don't know exactly when I'll be coming up with plotline, sketching new pages, inking them up, and the likes. But we have now and intro page and five panel pages. Hey, these are looking really nice (and I saw that Kwan also thought the same)! I'm glad I found you were doing these early; it's hard for me to get into something already half done, but to read from the beginning is great.
I'll tell you, Sebastian's eyes in the fourth panel look very appropriate. Trust me; I know that look.
I remember you talking about doing a comic, and I'm glad you've gotten around to it. I can't wait for more. ^_^

Yay!! It's looking great so far, HR! I've been reading it since page one but haven't commented yet. I appreciate legible handwriting, especially script. I think one or two illustrations is working really well for this story, due to the fact that it's flashback. Actually b&w lends itself to flashback, too, don't you think? Can't wait for the next page!

Thanks, I'm glad my handwriting is legible. My mom complains whenever she gets the chance that "nobody can read that." I've been following this too, and I'm excited to see where it goes next.
Are you going to keep this on DA only, or do you plan to post it elsewhere too? I've got it on DA and on my Furtopia-based website. Those are really the only art-posting sites I'm active on. Aww...it's gonna get mature? Dang. XD Seems every webcomic I really get into turns mature at some point. Ah well. Looking awesome, so far. :'D I've been keeping up with your comic through this thread, and I really love it so far. I used to type all my school paper on an electric typewriter, and I'm only 22. Actually, I think David Sedaris (the author) still refuses to use a computer.

And I don't want to tail off for a while and disappoint the audience. I'm just getting started, and I really want to keep the customer satisfied so that they'll come back and keep reading. I will try to work your suggestion in as possible. This segment is just Chapter 1. Once I'm through this part, I'll be doing a chapter from Eli's point of view, of essentially this same story, but how Eli experienced it. Then after that, there will be more story, some form Sebastian's view, some from Eli's view, and some from two more characters who I haven't introduced to the plotline yet. I have at least eight, maybe up to eleven chapter ideas floating around. So, there will be plenty of comic to come. Sort of spoiler warning. Highlight text to read: Even after Sebastian and Eli meet in person, they don't hook up immediately. They start out as "business partners," and things develop from there. I'm trying not to move things along too quickly.End spoiler. Reply to Liphx: I don't have everything drawn up yet. I have the initial sketches, but I only ink about four to seven panels in advance of those I've uploaded, in case I can't find time to draw for a bit. I have a 40-hour work week and a long commute, so I get my comic up as I can. |
