They have to be awesome for rave parties!
Especially if they made a sound activated model.
Probably i should get one and hack it to be sound activated.

Yes! I love raves. This collar has now gone from need to doubleplusneed. They're pretty inexpensive too.

Can't picture myself wearing one... plus I don't feel like making a statement that will just attract attention I don't crave.

It depends on who you are. I tend to sway toward the more absurd stuff. although i could not imagine myself wearing a tail or even ears :D

We have a tail thread for that :P.

You can't really just go out to a store and buy a tail to wear around. I take commissions, if you have something specific in mind. Send me a message sometime :).

Bought my boyfriend Roj one for his birthday two weekends ago. Let him pick it out for himself. <3

I secretly hope to get him to buy one for me. xD
And I’ll be wearing white when I come into your kingdom,
I’m as green as the ring on my little cold finger,
I’ve never known the lovin' of a man,
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand.

Are you scared/nervous to wear a collar?
« Reply #442 on: March 24, 2011, 02:22:45 pm »
Ok, the title might be misleading to some but this is aimed at people who refrain from wearing collars/tails etc because of various "social" reasons such as being embarrassed, bullied etc.

I had a thought, but first Ill put some at ease. (Hopefully)

Me myself am nervous about wearing a collar to school and generally out and about. As usual Im worried about the usual reactions one may get. Its normal to feel this way because of all the "pressure" that is put on us as maturing teens to follow the "social norm".

So one way that Im building my confidence is by wearing items that I wouldn't usually wear. The aim is to be comfortable wearing things that differ from your normal habits. For example, I wear sunglasses almost everywhere, some of you are probably thinking;

"Sunglasses? That’s nowhere near as different as a collar/tail etc would be?!"

While you are right in some respects to you it may not seem so hard, but for me I don’t usually like wearing them. Also wearing them indoors gets you looks. By doing this I am able to gather the different types of reactions, and have noticed that most people won’t give you a second look. So how does this translate into wearing a collar/tail etc.? Well I'm getting to the point where it feels natural to me and I'm confident in wearing them around. At the end of the day thats what we are trying to accomplish, confidence.

If you are able to feel confident wearing something you wouldn't usually wear than wearing a collar should't be much difference. There is the problem of being questioned but I have no advice on that so I would like to re-direct you to the "Furries on Furry" section here --> http://forums.furtopia.org/index.php?board=48.0 Just browse the topics until you find something relevant to your needs.

Im not sure how this whole post will turn out, Ive tried to mention things that I found useful. Also if their is already a topic like this or this isn't helpful to anyone please don't refrain from deleting it. Also I tried to articulate my thoughts as best I could but some places might be patchy, for this Im sorry  :(.

If this helps just one person Ive done my job  (:
Thanks for your time

P.s. I was planning on making an audio recording but I am lazy and probably never would've got round to it  :-[ If anyone has any questions they want to ask me feel free. (Although your more likely to get a better answer from other, more experienced, users.

OK, so there is a furry meet that I go to every Tuesday. We meet up at a different restaurant every Tuesday (something semi cheap) and then we go to the dollar savers theater to see a movie (only $2.25 on Tuesdays) Well I have been going for a few months now but this time (few weeks ago) Someone showed up I have not met before. apparently this person use to go a lot but ever since he met his mate, He had stopped going. Well when I seen him, I noticed that he had on a collar! He was just chillin eating his burrito with his girlfriend. I wanted to ask him so bad about it. I wanted to ask how often he wore it, if he ever had dirty looks...etc

I never commented on it or said anything but ever since then I have had an obsession with collars! I think there so awesome! I want one so bad! I have been going to pet stores and department stores looking at dog collars. I wanted to try some on right there but I am shy. So the links bellow are the collars that I currently like but since I can only buy one
(my first one :D) Also the collar actually changes what dog tag I get as well :P
http://www.petsmart.com/product/zoom/index.jsp?productId=3562584

In the link above, I like the bottom one with the dog bones

http://www.target.com/American-Kennel-Medium-Reflective-Collar/dp/B003V70LDU/ref=br_1_4?ie=UTF8&id=American%20Kennel%20Medium%20Reflective%20Collar&node=13983891&searchSize=30&searchView=grid3&searchPage=4&sr=1-4&qid=1301522291&rh=&searchBinNameList=subjectbin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&searchRank=pmrank&frombrowse=1

In the picture above, I like the blue one (a favorite) and I also like the pink one a little bit as well

So what do yah think? Even if I get one I am still shy about my furriness. Even though that one fur wore a collar to the Tuesday even, I am still a little scared of wearing on out in public myself. Something inside me though is saying that it is important that I do. I don't want to care about what others think of me. I am just worried about if I accidentally run into someone who I know (since no one I know knows that I a furry) and have to explain to them why I have a collar on. :P

Just be ready to hot glue some felt to the itchy parts. That looks a bit like what i have and it was unbearable until i modified it a little
