Kobuk, I have a question!

Have you ever tried Green River?  If so, what's your opinion on it?

Okay then, here's something to do: List five of your favorite books and why they mean so much to you.

Ok, getting back to Kaloyan's question which I haven't answered yet....... :-[  In no particular order, here's at least 5 of my favorite books out of the hundreds I have.

1. "Stealth Aircraft" by Bill Sweetman. This book started my interest in gov't black projects and stealth aircraft. I have every one of his books.
2. "Day of the Cheetah" by Dale Brown. Excellent military techno thriller novel about high tech aerial combat. Dale Brown and Tom Clancy are two of my favorite military techno writers.
3. "Macross Perfect Memory" - This is a Japanese art book about the entire original Macross Japanese anime from 1982. I saw a friend in high school bring in this book to read and I was amazed by all the artwork, blueprints, and everything else. That book started my long road into getting interested in anime, specifically Macross and Robotech. :) I still have my copy of the book sitting on a shelf.
4. "Heir to the Empire" trilogy by Timothy Zahn. Kudos to Timothy Zahn for writing and resurrecting the Star Wars series into a wonderful and exciting 3 book trilogy!  :)
5. "Area 51: The Dreamland Chronicles" by David Darlington. Probably the only "decent" book out there about the government's super secret miltary test facility called Area 51. Although the book does go slightly into UFO's and some other nonsense crap, It is still the only decent thing out there. I got this book because of my interest in black projects and stealth aircraft.

Any other questions?

*raises a wing* Yes I have another.

Just now when you mentioned the Area 51 book you seem to have lumped UFOs in with "Nonsense crap". Can we take it from this statement that you don't believe in the existence of extraterestrial visitors?

I am open to the "possibility" of aliens, alien visitation, etc., etc. But I absolutely will not believe every piece of crap nonsense spewed forth by crackpots and other weirdos.  :P Every time somebody says they saw a UFO or described something else, then I'd like to see proof. If you don't have proof, then you're just blowing smoke.  :P

Been a while since I wrote anything here. *wipes dust off this thread*

*cough, cough*  x_x

Anyway, not much is new with me. Been putting in a lot of work days and long hours the last 2-3 weeks. So I'm pretty tired.  x_x Can hardly wait for this coming Saturday as I'll be at my local model club meeting for an auction for charity. :) It's always good to see my fellow modelers and talk about what we've been doing. Hopefully the tables will be full once again this year with loads of kits to bid on. :) Having lots of money is essential as some people can get into bidding wars over rare and valuable kits. ;) Hopefully, I'll come away with some good stuff. All the raised money goes to various charities devoted toward children and/or war veterans. After the auction, then we all head toward a local restaurant to celebrate. Maybe if I get a chance, I'll snap a few pics from the auction to share. ;)

@Shim:  I just saw Green River soda today for the first time. It was being sold at a Walgreens store near me. I bought one bottle, but haven't tried it yet. Maybe on Sat. I'll give it a try.

Looks like a good pick there. And not a bad price for a 23" screen, either. Samsung just makes some great displays. I'm sure you're enjoying the better contrast and colors from the CRT.

If you don't mind, I'm curious as to what resolution you are actually running it on, as you said that font/icon size was a concern for you.

Oh, and did you ever try that Green River soda?

Speaking of sodas, I recently tried Mountain Dew Distortion Kobuk, I loiked it. To me it kinda tastes like Dew with some Sprite added to it. My dad didn't care for it but I've alreadt polished off three bottle of it. I don't drink that much dew regularly. :D

I'm not sure I'll give the others a try as I've heard bad things about them, like the White one tasting really thick and having a sick aftertaste.

But yeah, what about that Green River soda eh? ;)

Right now, I've got my comp monitor resolution set at 1024 x 768 which is a bit fine right now.

As for that Green River soda, I didn't seem to care for it that much. The taste just wasn't that appealing.  :P

Congratulations on the new monitor Kobuk..  Looks like real nice one, and a fine price
too, which is always good.. I am sure you will get alot of enjoyment out of it.

I got a new 24" Led Acer a while back...  My old one was getting hard to see
at times. This new one is noticably brighter with better contrast than my old one.

Sure like how cool this new one runs. My old flat panel got so hot it smelled like a something was about to burn up at times.

It accepts digital video inputs as well as RGB anolog.

Who is your role model, and why. I just feel that seeing other's role models makes me understand them better.
