I've got some interesting hypothetical questions to ask, but there's some back story for you to know before you answer these hypothetical questions.

ok, so every one in the world can transform into a feral animal, this is rather mundane and no one makes a big deal out of it. you can transform rather easily and it takes almost  no time, and is almost instant. You can only transform into real species, not nonexistent cross breeds or mythical ones. Answer the questions according to your fursona, like if your fursona is a wolf you could only turn into a wolf.



so here are some of the questions I have.

1. Would you spend more time as an animal or as a human, and what would you do while an animal?

2. Would you sleep as an animal or as a human, and why?

3. Would you be willing to give up the ability to become a feral animal to permanently be your anthro fursona and why?

4. If you got into a fight with someone, would you become a feral animal to get some sort of advantage, or would you stay human and why?

Oooooooh questions!

1. Would you spend more time as an animal or as a human, and what would you do while an animal?

I'd probably spend more time as an animal. Sleeping as an animals is OBVIOUSLY more comfotable if you've got a pet and watched it sleep, in impossibly contorted ways, over stuff that can't be comfy. They just do. And I like sleep. Also, traveling as an animal (Say if you transformed into a Cheetah, I mean, whaaaaaaa) is obviously going to be faster. Being a cat would be best. Or a bird, duh. But if you were a cheetah you'd just be like "Yep, im running across these fields at 70mph, don't mind me". Who'd need a bike?

2. Would you sleep as an animal or as a human, and why?

As above. How comfy must it be to sleep like a cat or a dog? They sleep across stuff like TV remotes, books, shoes, whatever. They don't care. I've watched my cat sleep on my fence. That's like not even 2 inches across? Sleep as an animal would be great. Also cats seem to have little fear of sleeping in the sun. I do that I get sunburnt.

3. Would you be willing to give up the ability to become a feral animal to permanently be your anthro fursona and why?

Probably not, transforming into a feral animal would have huge advantages, I've barley touched on a few. Think if you could transform into a bird. Not only is flying a useful way to travel, it'd be FUN. Only threat is, if you transformed into like, a blackbird or pidgeon, your own cat might eat you. Or someone shoots you. Or if you were a pidgeon in London, one of the Falcons could kill you. Man, imagine transforming into a rabbit and getting shot with a shotgun on a farm. Man. I'd probably consider being my fursona forever if I turned into prey. That'd be dangerous as hell. Though, maybe fun if you shut your cat out the house then became a mouse and explored those holes and the bits under the floorboards and stuff. Find loads of change and lost stuff, that'd be fun.

4. If you got into a fight with someone, would you become a feral animal to get some sort of advantage you would you stay human and why?

I'd obviously use it to my advantage if what I transformed into was good at fighting. Turn into a bear, lol. Or a Siberian Tiger. You'd savage them. Even a wolf would be good, wolves can ruin a man. Turning into a Rhino mgiht be a tad impractical depending on the size of the area you are in, though.

Cool questions! I'm going to answer assuming that everyone had a set animal. Mine would be the North American River Otter (lutra canadensis).

1. Would you spend more time as an animal or as a human, and what would you do while an animal?
I think I'd spend a bit more time as human. As fun as it would be to be an otter, one could not travel very fast except in water, one could not have a varied diet, one could not really communicate, etc. With my human intelligence, I don't think I'd be content living out my years doing what ordinary otters do. I certainly would spend a TON of time as an otter, playing with other otters, swimming really fast, and all that other fun stuff. That's why I'd choose otter! I absolutely love the water...I already LOVE the beach and am a captain of my swim team. So in conclusion, I would spend more time as a human most likely.

2. Would you sleep as an animal or as a human, and why?
As Bloodtooth said...I cannot help envying most animals as they sleep; they look so comfortable. With the long and densely furred body of an otter, I believe it would be difficult to not be warm, relaxed, and comfy immediately after curling up. I'd probably always sleep as an otter.

3. Would you be willing to give up the ability to become a feral animal to permanently be your anthro fursona and why?
Toughie, considering an otter. With a thick tail, I could probably still swim really fast and easily, but also keep the ability to walk/run on land easily. Enhanced senses, warm fur, desirable appearance...hmmmmm. Although, I'd be easily distinguishable from normal otters, or feral otter-people, which might be a down side. Meh, I'd probably keep the separation, and not give up the shifting ability.

4. If you got into a fight with someone, would you become a feral animal to get some sort of advantage you would you stay human and why?
I don't think being a big awkward beast on land would be an advantage.  But in the rare occasion of an underwater fight, totally!

1. Time would probably be split 50/50. I could leap out of bushes and scare little children. 

2. Like Infervorous said, animals look so cute when they sleep! I would take that route.

3. If I could still play bass, use a computer, and nobody made a big deal out of it, it would sure be tempting. I would probably stay "normal", as the idea of bodily maintenance when you have an inch or so of thick fur is a tad scary.

4. Nobody messes with a 5' 10' wildcat. Just transforming on the spot would probably be enough to break up a brawl.

I'd say about 50/50 for me too. I'd complete most of my human-oriented activities as such, and be in my animal form at any opportunity that looked good. As an animal, well, I've always imagined it'd be fun to run quadruped, so maybe I'd go sprinting. *laugh* Maybe stalk about and wander places humans aren't naturally predisposed to wander, enjoy nature and all that. And talk to other canines, definetly, along with other animals if the language was understandable.

2. Would you sleep as an animal or as a human, and why?
Probably whichever one ended up feeling most comfortable, especially given the situation. (Am I at home in a really comfortable bed, or outside, maybe at a friends', with less space to sprawl? Etc., etc.) Or just whatever form I happened to be in when I crashed.

3. Would you be willing to give up the ability to become a feral animal to permanently be your anthro fursona and why?
I don't think so. The feral/human thing seems so much more appealing to me, and as of late I feel like I personally identify better with a feral-type form.

4. If you got into a fight with someone, would you become a feral animal to get some sort of advantage you would you stay human and why?
Oh, of course. I'm more of a tooth-and-claw fighter than anything, so why not take advantage of a better form? Plus, I'd likely have better agility and offensive skills. And animals look much less ridiculous when they fight.

1. Would you spend more time as an animal or as a human, and what would you do while an animal?
I would probably spend more time as an animal. I seem to relate more to animals than to humans, and being an animal would allow me to spend more time closer to nature. I would likely just do whatever tickles my fancy at the moment when I'm an animal. Be that hunting, sleeping, or anything else.

2. Would you sleep as an animal or as a human, and why?
An animal, I would want to sleep as an animal underneath the sky, it sounds much more appealing than sleeping in the same bed over and over again.

3. Would you be willing to give up the ability to become a feral animal to permanently be your anthro fursona and why?At this present moment, I would say yes. My fursona was created to represent me, and I would like to get represented that way. However, that is only based off of my feelings right now, at other times, I would have to say no, because I would lose the ability to survive as well in nature. I might still have my senses and other abilities, but I would once again have to resort to sleeping in the same bed night after night. As well as some other boring activities that I must do as a human.

If you got into a fight with someone, would you become a feral animal to get some sort of advantage you would you stay human and why?I would definitely change, I am a scrawny pathetic excuse of a person, I couldn't fight right now if I wanted to. By changing into an animal, I would gain not only some advantages, but a chance of actually winning a fight.

A1: hmmm, i think i wold spend more time as a human than an animal, i guess i could get more done with thumbs

A2: I would sleep as an animal mainly because I can imagine it would be more comforting to curl up to go to sleep rather than stretch out and toss and turn until I'm comfortable.

A3: ohhh, tricky. I would probably give up the option to become feral, i allways kind of associate feral with being a bit violent and i have an apposing attitude towards violence but that's just how i view it.

A4: i think I'd use that as a last resort, i like to get out of situations like that by using my brain rather than my fists (not meaning to run away, i mean either ignoring it or just making them look a fool)

I'd morph in between the two: If the other person had a weapon, i'd turn into a cat to run away!

probably not, i'm really lazy and i wouldn't want to hunt and stuff...

I think my mate would have to have about the same feral size as my feral self...but as far as species go, i wouldn't really care.

Probably. It'd be a really interesting experience to live like a Wolf - though building the trust of a pack may be very hard. Living as a lone wolf might be interesting too - have to do it somewhere without the risk of being shot though. Go out into the wilds. ^.^

6. Would you design your house to accommodate being a feral animal, and to what degree?

I'd imagine it'd be a bit of a necessity really. Changing back and forth alot would soon get boring. That, or just leave all the doors open. Also laminate flooring would be a bit of a no-no.

7. Would you eat as your feral form and live of what they would, or eat as a human and have a larger selection of things to eat?

Probably eat more human food. But ripping raw meat off the kill would certainly be an experience I'd try - after all, a wolf can digest that well. I can't. Humans have lasagne, steak pie, steak, bacon, chow mein, all sorts of deliciousness. I couldn't not eat that stuff, it's too good.

8. Would you seek out a mate that also transformed into the same feral species as you, or would you not care?

Depends I guess. I'd probably not care that much. I'd probably be more concerned about thier personality - if I can't hold down a decent conversation with someone, that immediatley rules them out for me.

Human. (For hands.  ) Probably would go animal if I needed to walk somewhere in a hurry or to get around in the dark.

Not sure; probably some of each.

No doubt at all. Fur, claws, and hands.

Depends on the opponent; but probably. (I would love to see the expression on a mugger's face when he finds himself face to face with a cougar.)

Living, no; occasional hunting/exploring trips yes.

Probably just some paw-friendly door handles.

Mostly as a human.

A mate who turned into a big cat would be nice; but not the primary thing I look for.

Maybe for a little bit here and there, just for funsies. I'm pretty accustomed to the comforts of my human life, though, so I wouldn't go pure feral for long chunks of time.

6. Would you design your house to accommodate being a feral animal, and to what degree?
Probably not. If I was a coyote, the living situation would be much like a domestic dog, and I think my house is already accustomed well enough to that.

7. Would you eat as your feral form and live of what they would, or eat as a human and have a larger selection of things to eat?
I'd eat mostly as a human, or as a coyote eating human food (which I guess could go both ways, since coyotes can be scavengers and all.) I might hunt once or twice just to try it, but I don't think it's likely I'd decide to live that way.

Although, this raises another question about the legal systems in a world like this- what happens if you eat another shifter?

Doesn't matter. I'd look for personality, rather than animal type.

I guesss i should prolly answer my own questions   

1. Would you spend more time as an animal or as a human, and what would you do while an animal?
I'd say i'd be about 60/40 human. At first it'd be like90% feral, but after the novelty wore off, i be more realistic with it, and be human most of the time, gotta open doors and use the computer as a human, but if i were to sit down and watch tv or something like that i would defiantly be feral.


2. Would you sleep as an animal or as a human, and why?
Defiantly sleep as an animal. it would defiantly be more comfortable, and i could prolly sleep much better. And i would love to see how sleeping as a fox would affect my dreams.

3. Would you be willing to give up the ability to become a feral animal to permanently be your anthro fursona and why?
I would prolly give up the feral morph ability since if i could be an anthro i would be one constantly and this question gives me my own answer.

4. If you got into a fight with someone, would you become a feral animal to get some sort of advantage you would you stay human and why?
I would defanitly stay human since my martial arts only work when im human
But I might go feral just to be able to run away faster if need be.

I might spend sometime going full feral as a "vacation" or just go "camping as a fox", and bring food so i wouldn't have to hunt.
but then again i may try it for the experience. And i wouldn't stop my self from hunting if it was to survive.

Full 100% accommodation, like paw friendly doors and tools, same for bathrooms and light switches, everything could be used while being feral.

7. Would you eat as your feral form and live of what they would, or eat as a human and have a larger selection of things to eat?
Being a vegatarian, this would be tricky, but since my vegatarianism is flexible I might try raw meat a couple times. But id mostly eat as a human.

I would'nt limit myself to dating a person with the same feral form as me, but I would Highly prefer them to have a simaler form.

-I guess it would depend on what was going on at the time. But on average, probably more time as a human...but being an animal would be fun.

-hmmm...I honestly am not sure. Although, it would seem that animals have an easier time getting comfortable to sleep, and as I have problem with that as it is, I think I would rather sleep as animal.

-Nope, I don't think I would. I honestly view my fursona as being (generally) more feral anyway.

-Well, how big are they? Fennecs are rather small...so...

-I think that could be fun/interesting, so yes. Probably.

-I think to a degree, yes. Not overly so though.

-Well, preferably human food, honestly. I mean, I like rare/slightly-cooked food, but I would still rather eat as a human would. For the most part, at least.

-I don't think I would care species-wise, although they would most likely be at least somewhat near my size, preferably.

I would spend a lot of time exploring different places as a fox because their perceptions of the world are different than ours.  As mentioned before, it might be useful for getting somewhere quickly on foot.  Wilderness and emergency survival would be easier.  But I'd still be human plenty of the time because of common tasks that require hands or human form.

2. Would you sleep as an animal or as a human, and why?

I would definitely sleep in animal form: small and fuzzy, can literally curl up and sleep!

Depends on if I had to give up chocolate!    But seriously, if people are already cool with shifting into animals, I'd give it very strong consideration.  You pretty much get the best of both worlds, except for if there's any bonus to being big or small.

4. If you got into a fight with someone, would you become a feral animal to get some sort of advantage you would you stay human and why?

If my feral form was the size of normal foxes, then I'd only transform to run away.  In anthro form, however, the teeth and claws would help.

Comforts of civilization for me, please.

Mostly just convenience issues for being in feral form, but also with consideration for other people's feral forms--it would really suck to have a mouse-person get inside and then transform to a human, unlock the doors from the inside, and steal all my stuff!  Burglar protection would be much harder with that sort of thing going on.  Maybe for friends and family there would be species-specific amenities.

7. Would you eat as your feral form and live of what they would, or eat as a human and have a larger selection of things to eat?

I lurves me some people food.

It would be nice, but not a requirement, I guess.  It would kinda suck to be a fox and see a tasty little mouse just sitting there...and then have to remind myself that it's my wife!

Not for long periods of time, I just enjoy certain comforts to much I suppose.

Certainly not overly much so but enough to make things comfortable and easy.

I think I'd go back and forth, as my feral form would eat healthier and I could stand a bit more healthy foods.

Wouldn't be overly bothered... so long as they like cute hugable bunnies =3

I'd probably have to spend more time as a human, since thumbs are a nessescity for many things. Other than that, i'd probably be an animal more in winter, and human more in summer.

Depends on the temperature. Animal when colder, human when warmer. Being in the UK, that'd be mostly animal.

Probably, depending on how commonly it's done. But i imagine i would.

Probably go feral, unless i have a weapon i can use as a human handy

Probably not. I'm not a fan of dead things. Be it eating them, or being them.

I'd probably leave it the way it is and make do.

Eat as a human - cats can't be vegetarian.

It'd be convenient, but not really that important.

this comes down to what i spend most time of my life doing... considering the answer to the next question, and the fact that when i'm not practicing the sax or on the laptop i'd transform into my feral state... i'm gonna have to say that i'd be a feral probably 60 - 80% of the time

animal... it's something i imagine that i am when i sleep anyway lol

no... i still like being human and being able to pick things up with my hands and operable thumbs lol

if i got into a fight with someone? well... in this weird and twisted land where i wouldn't run off, i'd probably stay human. or i could turn into a lion and run off quicker lol

yes and no... i would love to, but i have too much commitment to computer coding and saxophone practice... if i went on holiday at all in real life i;d take both with me lol

hmmm... my room would probably have to be alot bigger, but i'm unsure what i'd have to do... i mean, any obstacle i couldn't accomplish (like the lift lol... no way i could fit in there), i could just change into a human instantaneously

my feral fursona eats exactly the same as my human self... both herbivorous

it would be preferable... but nah i don;t think i;d be so fussed...

In your sarcasm, you're actually right.  At first I was talking more along the lines of how some people mentally identify with certain animals because of a mindset or way of thinking/interacting with the world.  However, we could also take this to the real world.  Some people actually do prefer to be with someone of the same race because of this very reason: shared outlooks on the world and shared cultural experiences.  Are you going to call everyone a racist who is with someone of the same race?  There are also people who would prefer to be with someone of a certain race different than their own.  Are they racist?  (I think the obsessive ones are messed up, but not racist.)  Hey, by this reasoning, let's just say that the small Midwestern town down the road from me is racist because only white people live there!  Obviously they hate people of other ethnicities.  Maybe we should lock up everyone who likes vanilla ice cream but not chocolate, because that's discrimination.

That's obviously absurd, but I say it to make the point that sometimes people just do or like certain things or ways of doing things (or sometimes they have no control over it at all), and it's not always because they hate the alternative.  They just like their choice better for themselves.  Racists are more likely to be the ones trying to tell other people they shouldn't have mixed marriages, or trying to control the actions of other people.

In your sarcasm, you're actually right.  At first I was talking more along the lines of how some people mentally identify with certain animals because of a mindset or way of thinking/interacting with the world.  However, we could also take this to the real world.  Some people actually do prefer to be with someone of the same race because of this very reason: shared outlooks on the world and shared cultural experiences.  Are you going to call everyone a racist who is with someone of the same race?  There are also people who would prefer to be with someone of a certain race different than their own.  Are they racist?  (I think the obsessive ones are messed up, but not racist.)  Hey, by this reasoning, let's just say that the small Midwestern town down the road from me is racist because only white people live there!  Obviously they hate people of other ethnicities.  Maybe we should lock up everyone who likes vanilla ice cream but not chocolate, because that's discrimination.
