I entered the information in Filezille, but when I connect I get:

Error: Can't resolve host name

What does that mean?

Lets try going to:

File - Site Manager on filezilla

type the host in as ftp.furtopia.org

Server type : FTP - File Transfer Protocol

Logon type - Normal
User : yourname
Password: yourpassword
Account: -Leave blank-
Comments: only if you want to ^^;

Make sure your typing it in correctly, the fields are case sensitive. Then click okay. Then back on filezilla's main window, click the down arrow under file and select the site you just added. Hopefully it'll connect without any problems.

Back from MFM so back to work.

Mrinitialman: I looked into your  phpmyadmin folder.  There is a .htaccess and .htpasswd file.  Is your FTP client showing those files there?  They will need deleted to remove the folder.

Thank you werewolfhero for your ftp help.  I'll see if I can't run a test today using php upload function.  See if I can't track down the problem.

In Linux/unix based systems, a file starting with a . causes the system to view it as hidden, so it may be hiding it from the FTP program. Maybe.

Werewolfhero I added a directive for "upload_tmp_dir" so let me know if that fixes your programs php upload?

Mister Initial Man I have enabled viewing via ftp of hidden files.  You should now be able to delete/modify those folders as needed.  All users will now notice a .ftpquota file in their home folder.  That is nothing to worry about.  It is just the file used by the FTP to track how much of the 150MB a user has used.

On Furtopia we do allow larger than 150MB if it is used for the display of your arts.  The old system had a soft cap but was being abused so now limits are hard set with extra space granted on request.

Let me know if these changes do not fix your issues.

Out of curiosity, do you have any idea when the furtopia radio'll be back up?

I just wanted to say. The uploading speed and page loading speed on my site has improved immensely since this move and since the bugs were worked out.
Oh wow, I just uploaded 155 photos in less than 5 minutes. You have no idea how wicked that was.

Thanks for all your hard work and the hard work of all the staff here at Furtopia. I know how hard you all work and I appreciate it.

Uh hey there. I read through all the posts a couple times and i guess i must be missing something.
At first i used the FTP link on the main Furtopia site, but after reading through the posts in this thread, decided to try out FileZilla. However, either i can't remember my password or it doesn't seem to want to configure for me.
I keep getting a "530 Login authentication failed" then "Error: Unable to connect" no matter what password i enter.
I have everything set up right but i just don't seem to be getting it to work for me. :\

Orkid: Send me the address of your webpage in a PM and I will look up your info for you.

McMajick:  I expect the radio to be back online in two days.  I already have the server loaded.  Just need to make a few adjustments.

Mazz:  I'm still making tweaks and adjustments as I try and find out what's best and get things online (fit in after my day job to boot).  I'm glad things are running faster!  Depending on the upload speed of your ISP a user can upload to Furtopia now a max of 10mb per user (we have 30mb total download speed).

I'm currently working on the webpage applications page and should have it fixed and online tomarrow.  The new application will be a LOT better as it will be fully automated to a 48hr max wait time.

Added a "mobile" theme to the Furtopia Forums.  It is a text only theme that's friendly toward phones and low bandwidth connections.  It can be accessed form your profile.

The DJ Radio server is now back on-line!

I'm also officially announcing the start of project “Fur-Civilization”.  How many of you know/remember the game Civilization?  Fur-Civilization will be a home grown on-line multi-player civilization game based on furry races and units.  The engine will be based on the open source game Freeciv.  In typical Furtopia ideology the finished game will be released completely free to the public and open source.  More details are provided in the game area here: http://forums.furtopia.org/index.php/topic,37254.0.html
