Does anyone know where i can buy a synthesizer which i can connect to Fl studio on my laptop using USB connection? (and I'm not talking about vst plugins, i se them, yes, but nothing beats a real synth)nall synthesizers I've found so far are either WAAAAY too expensive, or only compatible with non-Fl studio stuff... and I'm not buying reason just to get a synthesizer.

I don't know much about FL, but a MIDI controller should work as well as a synthesizer. Only thing is, they don't carry their own sounds and are basically just the hardware portion of the keyboard.
You could check out MusiciansFriend.com or your local Guitar Center/ music store if you have a local store. They'd probably be able to help more than I can. I don't know too much about synths, although I have been considering getting a portable keyboard or digital piano at some point.

You could just get a regular synth and a DI box.

I use a microKorg synth as a midi controller for reason. It will work just the same with FL Studio. Any synth with a midi out will act as a controller for either of these programs.
When you are using a synth as a controller, you won't here it's own sounds, just the sound of the patch you are using in FL Studio. Only velocity and the note are sent as midi data to the program.
I don't know what your price range is, but you may be able to find an old synth on craigslist or ebay that has midi out capability. I occasionally see some old Rolands and Yamaha synths going for a little over $100 on craigslist and they all have midi out. Just make sure all the keys work properly.

hmm...he said he didn't want to use VST plugins, which rules out a midi controller.
But yeah, it all depends on your price range. My advice (as before, but hopefully a bit better explained this time) would be to get one of the synths that isn't compatable with FL studio, that has a headphone or line out, and a USB DI box or USB sound card. Then use that to record audio directly from the synth. But it depends on your price range, cus if your price range is so low that the cost of a usb DI box or soundcard on top would bring it up to the price of a synth that does support FL studio, then it's not really worth it...

Well, I use a Yamaha EZ-30 MIDI keyboard with a Turtle Beach USB MIDI interface and it works fine with FL Studio 8.
Unless you have ALOT of money, I suggest just hooking up a MIDI keyboard and using it with Fruity Loops, you won't be able to import sounds from your keyboard if that's what you're looking for, but you can easily edit the sounds that are already in FL to your liking, or just download soundpacks.

Can anyone create that deep sound at 0:15 from a normal synth or is there a special kind? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvumPyTKUzI

It doesn't take much, just a normal synth, tweak the settings and hit a very low note and that should do the trick as far as I know.

I just purchased a Yamaha DD-55 drum machine from a friend. It has MIDI-In and a good assortment of General MIDI sounds. When I get my MIDI controller, keyboard, I was just going to use the DD-55 instead of buying a seperate MIDI-controlled synth module.

K guys, I decided on using VST plugins (only the good ones though, like nexus, 3xosc, z3ta+, vanguard, and that stuff), and I'm getting a Korg tomorrow, so if Kobuk (or any Mod or admin) sees this, you can lock it. Thanks guys

your question is odd.. for me that is i have been reading to see if perhaps i can figure what you;re trying to do. >.> you want to hook a synth to ues with FL studio? To use as a instrument synced or use as a Control surface ?
This is what i did, when to guitar certer and got a USB/Midi cable one end is MIDI in and out the other side is USB it hooks right into the pc and i cand use this to RECORD live sounds using 3 progams including FL the cable also comes with a small disck for drivers, go to options and under there you should see one that says to use a midi control and or keybord and select "find" and or under a drop list where your keyboar or controler is found.. if done corectly you just sync the two and wala you can use it with your program.. <.<

I, too, am confused. You say you want a synth that makes a particular sound, yet you're running it through MIDI and FL Studio - In that case, with the right VSTs, all you'd need would just be a cheap MIDI controller, synth functionality is not necessary. For cheap things on that front, I'd have to say take a look at the CME U-Key, the Korg NanoKey, or M-Audio's stuff (Oxygen8, Axiom, etc..). There's a difference between controlling something and creating a sound, unless you're running the output from the synth straight into your line in, or through a mic'd amp, synth functionality isn't necessary. BUT it seems like you know what you're talking about and have got it worked out, so anywho...
