So who has plush animals? How many? Any favorites? Any particular species you favor?

I recently was reunited with an old friend. Years ago I left both the furry and therian communities for reasons I'd rather not get into. I had tons of plush dogs back then, but I sold some and gave some away because I wanted to forget the dog obsession I had going. It's hard to explain why.
At any rate among the dogs I gave away were two giant Wrinkles dogs.

About a week ago, my cousin showed up with something for me. She had me close my eyes. I was suspicious because we're always messing with one another, but I did it. When I opened them, there was one of my long lost Wrinkles dogs. I made a loud sound, kind of like a happy shriek. My old buddy was back.

I have plush dogs. Lots of plush dogs. I started rebuilding my collection a couple years ago. I also have a few teddy bears which I will probably end up donating to charity eventually. I only care about plush dogs. I also have dog statues, action figures, posters and anything else dog related I can get my hands on.

I'm a huge fan. I have dozens of different ones. I have mostly raccoons but have many foxes as well other wonderful furry critters (wolves, otters, huskies, lions, bears, and misc). Smiley Besides plush I try to collect every raccoon and fox thing I come across with the ability to afford in my budget. I have artwork, photo prints, figurines, and even some stickers.

That was a great surprise from your cousin!  Smiley

I still have enough, though donated most of mine to a charity rummage sale two years ago. I have one limited edition one of an afghan hound that I am fond of, a couple of nice big cats, lots of black cats and westies, some ferrets, a felix the cat, a paddington bear...

I got rid of most of the Disney characters except Figment (little purple dragon) and a Goofy bopper from WOW (World of Wonder-they made Teddy Ruxpin).

The only ones I refuse to part with are the black cats, the westies and the afghan hound.

I have so many teddy bears it's crazy. And plushie lions, and plushie cats, wolves, tigers...
Oddly, I love tigers more than lions, even though I act more lion.  Cheesy
But anyway, I mostly collect teddy bears, and have since I was like... three, maybe? A long time.

Am I the only one who read through this too fast and pictured a Tauren plush?

Anyway, I've never collected plushes, though at one point I did want a stuffed companion cube.

=X You're not alone...

I have...a lot of stuffed turtles.  I don't know why, mostly because I think they're a bit of an odd plush to have.  I have regular like wolves, dogs and bears but I get happy with turtle plushes.

Among my dogs my very favorite are two Ty Pillow Pals, both Woof the dog who looks like a big version of the Bones the dog beanie baby. They look exactly alike except that one's eyes and nose are bigger. One of them is draped across my shoulder as I type this. They go everywhere with me and I do mean EVERYWHERE. I carry them in a backpack and I refuse to go anywhere where I can't wear it. I have problems with anxiety and my dogs help it. I'm not sure why, but they do.

This is Sasha.

And this one is Pup.

Sasha was a gift in the last Furtopia Christmas gift exchange and Pup is my first plush ever. I've had him since I was two years old, my dad gave him to me and he's accompanied me through every surgery and operation I've ever had. I think I might pass him down to my own son one day if I ever have children.

I've actually seen patterns for making your own stuffed companion cube.  I almost went ahead and made a set of 4, so we'd have some sort of pillows in our room at school.  But time and money got in the way...

As for plushes I have, they are really quite limited. Most are from my childhood. Then there's my beanie babies. Got them stowed in my closet. They fill one and a half boxes.

Pup is awesome! That's pretty much my plan with my two Woofs. If I ever have surgery, I want them to be right there making sure the surgeon doesn't foul up and kill me. I'm pretty sure that the risk of having your arm bitten off by an angry plush dog would be enough motivation to ensure you don't screw up.

I'm hoping my Woofs will be with me though any major events in my life from now on, good and bad and eventually will be buried with me. I don't think I've ever been this attached to a plush before. It's a nice feeling.

Oh Vlada, I just had to share.... I used to make these turtles all the time, combining plushie making and basketry... I could make you one if you are interested. They are fun to do. Anyway, this all culminated with the turtle bra, as modeled by one of my friends Wink

p.s. sorry if my reference to WoW had people confused... I am a kid of the eighties

I've heard of Worlds Of Wonder. I have a non working talking Snoopy they made in my dog collection. I even remember the commercial for Boppers. They had Disney, Teddy Ruxpin and monster boppers. I'm an 80s kid too.

I have quite a few, and I get new ones every now and then. In fact, just got a new one while at Busch Gardens last week on vacation. (White Tiger!)

And I keep one in my car (or any car I am in for more than a few minutes, actually) to watch over me. And he went with me all the way Tampa and back last week, riding on my leg the whole way, and sat by my pillow all week.  Upside down  He's a lion, I think? I really am not even sure, but he's awesome no matter what! Surprised that none of my family really said anything about him...then again, they know me.

My Arctic Fox stays in my bed all the time, along with my giant cat pillow I've had since I was really little.

I have a couple teddy bears in my room as well, Fuzzy Wuzzy (yup...had him a LONG time) and Brown bear.

I have one of the Shoney's bears from the nineties that my Granny bought me when I was little. And I have a number of Ty Beanie Babies that sit on my desk and watch over my room, along with a Pikachu and Snorlax. And a pug plush. And a gorilla that I got at camp one year.

But the bulk of my plushes have been given to my sister when she was little. She takes good care of them...although I would love if they were sitting out more, and not kept put up (mostly under the bed), but she loves them probably as much as me, so it's all good. Smiley

So...yeah. I have quite a few sitting about. And I just realized...I don't really care what species or whatever...I just love plushes. Fox

*scrambles through closet*

Ahh, there you are!

I have two small kitty plushies, one white and one brown, a white seal my Dad got for me at Seaworld when I was little, and an awesome doggie plushie  Cheesy  Strangly enough, the one I really care about the most is my seal.

I had a lot of other dogs (lost track a long time ago) and a blue teddy bear that I lost in a tragic spring cleaning accedent.  Its *sniff* too hard to talk about it  Cry

My Grandpa collected Beanie Babies a long time ago but stopped for reasons unknown.

The stuffed Companion Cube is VERY tempting.  I just might get one.  Awesome  Cheesy

Sorry no pics  Tongue

Looks like my bears aren't going anywhere afterall. I finally realized how important they are to me.

I've got quite a few bears too. Ty beanie Babies and Beanie Buddies including a gigantic two foot tall green beanie buddy bear named Shamrock. I bought Shamrock with Christmas money. He stayed in the hospital with me when I had to sit with my mom. I also have Two jointed attic treasure bears ( also from Ty ), a Build A Bear in a Karate Gi. a Harley Davidson bear and a HUGE Vermont Teddy Bear. I paid over $100 for that bad boy.

I just snagged four more bears. Ty Beanie Buddies. I love the way their fur feels. One's a Christmas bear. Unfortunately they won't be here till Tuesday. This is gonna be a long weekend.

Plushies and stuffed animals are so adorable~ I like collecting them when I can. My favorite right now is the little hedgehog plushie a friend of mine bought me for my birthday. She knows they're my favorite animal and it's just such cute little plushie with tiny paws~

Wow! I'd imagine it would be hard finding a hedgehog plushie that wasn't Sonic.

Wow! I'd imagine it would be hard finding a hedgehog plushie that wasn't Sonic.

Heh, there's a store in one of the local malls that has a -ton- of plushies of all different species, and that's where we found it. I was really happy to see one at all, and then she even got me one^^ I was gonna buy it myself but she said no, it was my birthday so I wasn't allowed and bought it for me.

It's so cute, and I nicknamed it Sable because I'm a geek.  Wink

secretly I don't like Sonic because that's all people think of when I say hedgehogs and I like real hedgies. They're the cutest thing and I wish people didn't associate them so much with a video game character

That's perfectly understandable. Sonic may be famous but he's hardly the perfect example of a hedgehog. He doesn't really look anything like a hedgehog for one thing. If I was a hedgehog instead of a bear I probably wouldn't care all that much for him either. I like my animals to look recognizable as the animal they're supposed to represent.  I suppose you could point to sonic and say Hedgehog because of the spines, but you could just as easily peg him as a totally made up species. And don't get me started on Knuckles. He looks about as much like an echidna as I do.
