Here are some introductory questions you can answer if you like:
Mind telling us how you happened upon our friendly community?
How long have you been a furry / known about the fandom?
Do you have a fursona? If so, what is it?
What interests you about the anthropomorphic (furry) fandom?
Oh yay! The eternal problem of what to say in one's first post solved in one small list.
Well, I ended up here by inputting "furry forum" to Google one day. How I ended up doing that has mostly to do with with what I mentioned in my first post - my identity renaissance. Long story short: last study year was the worst one I have had. Then during the summer I kinda started to figure out how I wanted to be me. Just took 6 years after having a mental breakdown for that to happen. Good job, me. And this then lead me to explore areas about my identity I hadn't really given much consideration to.
I think I've known about the fandom since high school or something. And how long have I been a furry, well... I don't really want to attach that label on myself. As I said in my first post, I'm wary of communities and attaching a label on yourself is basically joining a community. This then often makes you a target of a whole new panopticon and subject to explicit and implicit demands, some which the members of the community aren't even aware of. Anyhow, I'm careful with labels for myself.
I sort of do, but since I'm not a person who is too adept in the visual arts, it would be one in written form. That means it's not really super concrete since I have no friends that would make a more concrete version. But to keep it in the vague territory, it would be a Snow Leopard.
My interest in the fandom started long ago, but I think it has always had to do with the seeming amount of representation and hence level of acceptance. And it would be nice to find some kind of group that felt I belonged in. Oh well. There are probably other things that interest me as well but I've been writing this longer than I thought. So off to the university opening thingies!
