we have a fabric store up here called JoAnn's that carries all the supplies you need that way.
Oh, btw, NEVER put full lenth fake fur in the washing machine if you can help it...it turns into wool instead of fur.  handwashing small pieces works just fine.

Howls Sniffs
Both good points,
Yes JoAnns sells most furs you need. But not all types.
And no fur really machinewashes well.

Fursuits should be drycleaned like other fur, or just spot clean.

I'm about 5'1, so the length or whatever would be proportional...whatever that is.  Not sure what the conversion rate is.  I'd want it to look like it was extending from my tail bone...so as to look as realistic as possible. (despite being obviously fake fur)  I want soft fur...kinda fluffy...(not short fur, just not really long fur either...) I have pics of me if you want:)  not sure how much help they'd be, but...:)

Hello.  I haven't been on for a while and just now started reading this fursiuting forum.  The leopard is longing to make a fur siut so much.  I can sew by hand or by machine and can cut and form most materials for the job, but have never actually done an animal siut.  I was wanting to know if there were any stores that could send me by mail order or internet order some realistic furs.  I am looking for leopard furs and Clouded Leopard furs.  Any help would be more than appreciated.

I've never tried to make a fursuit, and personally I have no idea how to. If anyone here can make a good badger one, send me a price and I see if i can raise the money. *gulps*

Even if you make your own, Russano, the cost of the materials can easily run to several hundred dollars for a full suit.  Sorry to burst your fursuiting bubble, but it's pretty much impossible to obtain a fursuit without a job, or very very generous family members.  I myself really want a fursuit, but college life is eating up all my funds.  And if Kada-Ru goes through with her idea to make and sell Furtopia plushies, I may soon be flat broke!
