furry greetings / Re: UPDATES ON ME
« Last post by Kay Alett on May 25, 2024, 02:25:42 pm »
Time for another update on my life.

Things here in the new camp are nice. I've started learning to oil paint and I've been enjoying the convenience of getting amazon deliveries.
The biggest news that i have to share is thatbi have finally gotten a proper, real, solar power system in my trailer and I'm using it to run an honest to god freezer/fridge!

I can finally have frozen foods again, i can buy meat again and it won't spoil in a day. I can buy eggs and milk again without having to rely on the powdered stuff (though personally I like powdered eggs more than regular eggs), and i can have cheeses again and keep my water cool without relying on blocks of ice that will just melt away into nothing.

I did not see the aurora. It doesn't get dark enough this time of year to see it :(

Would be cool to see your pictures though. I see a lot of people saw red, which I've never seen before.

general non-furry discussion / Solar and geomagnetic storm of May 11th 2024

Did any of you see the aurora in the night sky during this event?
Did any of you notice anything unusual?

I was able to measure the geomagnetic storm with an instrument I madeand i compared it to the measurements in Boulder Colorado and they agree to a large degree!

My brother saw the aurora, and so did his friend.

A dog here went nuts and wouldn't stop barking till they took him in and he is usually quiet.

My computer crashed at the same time my TV sound bar turned off.

And my ham radio had static so strong it was just noise at times.
Later I will try to post some images here.

Did any of you see the aurora?

Rocket, back when I was in high school we had a juke box in the cafeteria. EVERY day. For the entire school year there was a batter. Between two songs. How many times these songs could be played during lunch.
'I love my Rancho Grande' by Freddy Fender and 'Iron Man' by Black Sabbath. Over and over.....  :D

When I was in HS, Money by Pink Floyd was in the cafeteria juke box, and played often. The offensive words would be censored when played on radio. Here--not so much.

The current rage in Memes is the taunt: Are you safer in the woods with a man or a bear?

How about a dude in a bear suit?

Juke boxes--Someone will enter an establishment, not to patronize but to make a selection of the most obnoxious music offered, and then leave before any of it plays.
