Bird fursuits
« on: July 02, 2004, 08:34:19 pm »
So I was wondering, how would I go about making a bird (or more specifically, phoenix) fursuit? I've never made one before so I need a little help. It would only be partial, there's no way I could make or even afford a full fursuit. I was thinking about making a headband with feathers on it and maybe a small bird tail that I hope to be able to attatch to my belt. Problem is I don't know where to start. So could you help me out? Please?

Well, the easiest-but very expensive-idea is to get Peacock feathers and dye them the colors you want. The reason for Peacock feathers is that they're uber long.

Ostrich feathers might also work.

I don't think there's any real longfake feathers is why I'm suggesting this.

That's for a nice, funky tail.

As for a mask, that'd be easier.

There's a sort of paper where if you wet it and then tear it, it looks EXACTELY like feathers....I'll try and see if I can remember what. It was in a Birds and Blooms magazine once '<img'>

You can glue those to a mask, a headband, or whatever '<img'>

I have info on how I made my gryphon fursuit on my website, if you think that would help.
