Title: Cell phone usage

Hey guys, I am here to make a suggestion. Would it be possible to make the forums accessible via cellphone usage? I can go onto the forums just not click links, see pics or anything, I can't even log on. That's all, if you guys would be able to do that it would be great but again, just a suggestion.

Hey Slylin, thanks for the suggestion! :) I'm guessing that if WS has anything like this up his sleeve, it won't be coming for a while yet... he's really got his paws full ironing out the problems with the new server. But it's something to keep in mind for the future!

What web browser are you using to browse the forums?  I run windows explorer IE mobile and it browses fine.  However I was planning on a phone friendly skin that would not use graphics.  Arbutus is right I'm busy fixing the new server.  But it's on the to-do


ok... <45 min later>  at this point in writing the message I just decided to just take the time and do it! ;D I've been burning the midnight oil catching up on requests so one more for tonight.  ;D  I've now set up a text only mobile theme.  Should be very friendly to low bandwidth connections/phones.  Just go to your profile and chose the mobile theme.  Enjoy..

I use my BlackBerry and its browser to surf Furtopia all the time. There is a special cell phone version of this forum that appears. It is just text based and very compatible with cell phones. Only downside is of course no images. Works great though and is pretty fast!

Lol I hate to get off subject. but since I am here... anyways I seen your exploration picture under the pictures thread. I have to say thats awesome, really inspiring. I think Il go exploring this week. Il take the a camra with. hopefuly I wont get assoulted by a homeless guy.

IE, Skyfire, Opera Mini Current release (4.something) and Opera Mini 5 Beta, all resolve the full webpage.  Regular ol' non-Java Opera has trouble for me.

If your phone is Java-Enabled and you have some time to spend with google, See if you can get a copy of Opera Mini for your phone.  Beats the heck out of IE/Opera/Skyfire, IMO.

Opera Mini 5.0 Beta 2 is out now, another good full browser for those with touchscreen phones and full data plans.
