You guys have the arrows and crosses and circles to display gener, and no matter how hard I try, I can't remember which is which. Don't you think having Blue and Pink paws would be better suited? Or if not that, at least make the circles and arrows and crosses thingies colour specific?

An easy way to help remember is to use the men-are-from-Mars-women-are-from-Venus mnemonic, though that might only help in the opposite direction...

(Maybe I only remember it because the media really drives it home over here)

I learned the symbols long ago, it's very easy for me at a glance, but I thought everyone knew them.. ^^;; hehe, oh well.

The paw idea is cute though

boys have an arrow girls don't...

Honestly I like the signs the way they are but I'll let the other mods deliberate on this. ^^

I like them as it is, too. The colour coding would really just overstate the fact.
Men are from Mars and women are from Venus, hence the origins of those symbols dating back to the days of the ancient Greek empire. Or something like that...

Here's how to remember them.

A man's is a shield and spear, like a warrior.

A woman's is an anorexic with a big head. (Don't mean to offend, but that's just what it reminds me of!'<img'> :P

Well, the symbol is supposed to be a hand mirror and comb...

They're accepted all over as the symbols for male and female.  Most people should know what they are (or at least be able to remember).

I can't see the point of changing them  ':?:'

That and blue and pink pawprints will really clash with our forum color theme. Also if you are truly confused check their profile. The profil says Male or Female in the 3rd spot down.

*sighs* M'kay. I just cannot remember these symbols. At all. I've been trying for weeks now and still can't, even if I think Men have an arrow I still can't remember which is which

That's the only way I can, I have to look for one of my posts, and that can take ages, then I have to memorize which one it is, then go back, and if by the time I get abck I've forgotten which symbol it is or I'm not sure still I have to recheck.

click profile and tada.. says male/female in the gender section...

It's best to just learn em though, you can't always make things change because something isn't perfect in your eyes.
