I asked my wife for a couple of Xbox games and for the limited edition nanoblocks spaceshuttle model:

The model is the coolest thing on my wishlist *grins*

I'm also hoping for lots of snow at the local ski areas so I can get a couple of days of skiing in on the 6 day weekend I will have for Christmas.

A cold weather liner for my Bundeswehr field jacket, BOLLE Defender ballistic goggles, and a pair of the German KSK's padded combat pants. Incredibly diverse, I know.

My dad's probably gonna get me some fancy, brand-name winter coat that I don't need instead. Figures.

There's a lot of stuff that I wish for Xmas. But I'll never get it unless I save my own money and do my own shopping.  :P I'll most likely get gift cards or money from my mom and grandmother.

There's other "wishes" I have, but I know they'll never come true. :(

I wish Furtopia had it's main front website page back.
I wish Furtopia Radio was back.
And most importantly, I wish Furtopia could go back to being the "art community" that it used to be and was famous for.

Are you talking about the general aesthetics or the actual content?  If it's the content, I haven't been around long enough to know what it used to be.

I wish for acceptance for all of the community, and equality in every aspect. Also, i wish i knew more furries around here... It gets really sad and lonely being one of only 2 furries i know of.

Mainly for my work to go well so I don't have to suspend uni for another year. Although snow would be nice, and maybe a few extra parts for my car.

This Christmas I wish to stay relatively the same weight I was before the holidays. A few extra pounds are inevitable, but I still want to fit into my clothes!

I need to build a rotating metal kill machine.. (brownie points)

Well, I'm Jewish, so I don't celebrate Christmas. However, I don't usually look or ask for anything specific.

If I had to save up money for things right now that aren't fursuit related, I still have yet to play Infamous 2, Ico + SotC, and Catherine x_x.

It's a pity you're not in England because you could have joined me on a trip on my birthday (it's on the 27th, believe it or not!).

Skyrim...
A new T-Shirt, preferably the 20% cooler shirt I saw on the internet a while ago...
A gas mask, like, an actual one. I want to scare people with it by sneaking up on them and screaming like a zombie.
School to start later in the day.

***THIS!*** (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTXO7KGHtjI&feature=player_embedded)

To clarify, no, I do not want a copy of Crypton Future Media's Hatsune Miku Character Vocal Series software.  Nor do I want a ticket to a Hatsune Miku concert.  I don't even want a Hatsune Miku CD.  No no, no Hatsune Miku stuff at all!  Honest!  I'm a mad scientist dang it!  I care not about such things!  What I DO want however, is that extremely cool holographic* projection system that they are using to project that little tart of a CG artificial J-Pop star with-- the duel high-lumen high-definition projector system, the huge transparent rear projection screen, all of the high-end computer and AV equipment powering it, all of that stuff!  That's the stuff that I want!!!  A fantastic holographic display setup like that just begs to have an interactive life-size CG Krystal or Renamon projected onto it!!!  It would be even better if I could project a detailed CG version of my own Foxee (http://hoagiebot.furrynet.com/gallery/webfoxee62iceholepage.jpg) character on there!  And if you could add additional capabilities to the character, such as the natural language processing capabilities of a product such as IBM's Watson supercomputer or Apple's Siri, and the motion-tracking capabilities of Microsoft's Kinnect, and now you are starting to get yourself a very rudimentary furry-version of the AI construct "Cortana" from Halo!  Or in other words, a very compelling reason for me to never have to leave my underground computer-laden cave (a.k.a. "basement") ever again!  (Or at the very least, create for myself a much better companion than late night AM talk radio is when it comes to keeping me company as I work by myself in my cold, dark, and lonely computer cave into the wee hours of the night doing all of my mad-scientisty-type things.   :'( )

Naturally, this kind of equipment is massively cost prohibitive, so this is very much a wild crazy (or shall we say, "mad") fantasy gift.  I don't even think that the vile yuppie-spawn that live in the nearby evil encampment known as Hinsdale (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinsdale,_Illinois) could afford this stuff, or someone from there would have rubbed it in my face already.  However, with a little bit of BoPET film and an old LCD screen and I may be able to construct a much crappier poor man's version of this.  We'll see.  I guess that means what I really want for Christmas is some BoPET film!   :D

...and maybe a couple APC Uninterrupted Power Supplies, some more 1U sliding rail sets and shelves for my server racks, a PIC Microcontroller embedded C programming development kit, a build-it yourself Doppler Radio Direction Finder kit, a book on Amateur Radio Astronomy, a book on programming webbots, spiders, and screen scrapers, a Commodore 128D 8-bit microcomputer, and the new Winnie the Pooh DVD.  Yeah, that should about do it!   :D

* Before some smartypants chimes in to correct me, yes I already know that the technology behind transparent rear projection screens is not truly holographic because it is only displaying a flat projected 2D image and not a reconstructed light field.  There is no need to lecture me about it.   :P

Yeah. 'Father used to have a copy, and after an afternoon of looking, we all gave up on it. He read it several times, and said the same thing.

Kobuk, you missed what I was interested in in that YouTube video entirely-- what I said that I wanted in my post was the holographic display equipment that projected that Japanese virtual pop star-- I have no real affinity towards the virtual pop star (Hatsune Miku) or "her" music.  I just want to personally have the technological ability to project characters like that myself.  That is some really cool gear that SEGA, Yamaha, and Crypton Future Media Inc. are using to put on that stage show, and it would be extremely neat to have that kind of high-end equipment to project some interactive animated CGI female furry characters with!  In any case, I have been researching that kind of projection technology since I originally made my last post, and apparently you can make a scaled down version of a similar effect using a laptop computer and $20 worth of supplies from Walmart... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExYiZ3imgdw&feature=related)  However, as you would probably imagine, the $20 version of the effect really does look only about as 0.001% as good as the $20,000 (or more) version of the effect that the live Japanese concert performance was using.  At least the Walmart version is affordable enough to play around with!  *Puts buying those supplies on his to-do list.*

Also, since you were ranting about preferring "flesh and blood real" things as opposed to "CGI/SFX fake stuff," I would have to say that I totally agree with you-- I would definitely prefer a real flesh-and-blood Krystal from Starfox or Renamon from Digimon instead of some holographic projected CGI version!  But female furries aren't flesh-and-blood creatures, so sadly CGI and holographic projections are the only way to go about producing them in this case!*

*Oh please oh please oh please may genetic engineering and cloning research someday make that last statement false!  *crosses fingers*
