Yeah I know what you mean, I just got Naruto 1 on Friday and have been playing it like mad! Trying to do story mode 10,000 times to unlock Sasuke's brother...yeah I'm nuts...

Which is why I voted for the PS2...Naruto the best fighting game I have ever played.

When you said 'old school' it was my trusty ZX-Spectrum I thought of first, though the oldest thing I've played games on was my uncles Dragon.

Anyway I guess I'd have to say the PS2 is my favorite of the newer ones (no one will ever beat the spectrum or Atari) We have loads of emulators* for it so I can play jusst about any game made for any console on it.

*For those that don't know, it's a programme that lets you run programmes or games for any console on your PC or PS2 (don't know if you can get to play them for the other new consoles)

Greatest console to ever have touched my flat?
PC.

Why? All the games.
And who cares about consoles when you can host a game on a dedicated server on the same machine that you play it on? XD

To me, it's not about the system, it's about the games. But if I had to choose, I would say Nintendo 64 because they had a lot of great games like 'Conker's Bad Fur Day', 'Goldeneye' and 'Perfect Dark'

Wow, the Super Nintendo is winning. I didn't know it was so popular and made such an impact. But no one likes Gameboy? For shame!!! Several Super Nintendo games that never made it to America are being released for Gameboy Advance! Hmm... I know that a Gameboy Advance SP is 100 bucks but you'll instantly learn to love it. Lit screen, rechargeable battery, 10 hours MINIMUM of lighted gameplay, and a vast selection of games. I supported Gamecube but Gameboy Advance SP is well.... It's just so sweet! Ahh, oh well. I'm going to go play it now!
See you guys later..

Mmhm, I agree with Deathspawn, the SEGA Saturn ruled.  Although I like the Dreamcast more because it's pad is highly comfortable (Although lacking in the C and Z buttons that I have yet to see since the good old days of the Saturn).  Plus the VMU display was a great idea, and it had a couple o' my favourite games - Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica.

I seem to buy whichever offers the main Resident Evil games, it seems.  The Saturn had the original with added Battle Mode fun, the Dramcast has the best version of Resi 2, along with Resi 3 (That I haven't bothered fiding out the version differences for yet - Must do that now) and Code Veronica.  Then the GameCube has the remake of the original, plus 0 and 4.  Which overall isn't bad.

Though I've yet to touch any of the others.  At all.  Though apparently I'm not missing much from the Gun Survivor series or Gaiden, and I don't know about Outbreak.

I'll have to go with SNES. It just had the most good games and the highest classics to crap ratio.

My favorite console of all time is the NES.  So many great memories with that console.

My favorite of the current generation, however...is a toughy.  I have all 3, and like them each for their different qualities.  Gamecube has some of the most fun games available, and PS2 has an excellent selection of games and gizmos...but I do find myself playing the Xbox the most out of the three since I picked it up.

Mega Drive. So many happy memories...

Round here, only nerds had Nintendos.

And the games: We had Sonic, real Sonic mind, none of that new Earth-set crap... and Streets of Rage, and Golden Axe! *sighs* They just don't make em like that anymore...

And the cartridges! They musta been made outta space shuttle re-entry tiles or something, cos they were practicaly indestrucable. I mean, it doesn't matter what you do to em, just blow across the underside and all's well.

*looks back at classic Sega with fondness, and spits on Microsoft, spit spit spit*

Streets of Rage

You don't know how long I've been waiting for Sega to make a new entry in that series.  It's one of my all-time favorites.

Unfortunately it died and fell off the face of the planet before I ever got a chance to play it.  I've only ever been able to play a Sega Saturn once in my life, and that was at a demo kiosk at Toys R' Us back when my Sega Genesis was still my main console.

Well, talk about reviving an ooooold topic.

The N64 has to be on top for me. It got me into games and it's a big part of why I'm a big time gamer today. I love Ocarina of Time sooooo much. It was the second game I ever owned and I'm still playing it. (Only 2 days ago I played it for at least the 15th time) The N64 is definately top for me.

Was tough to decide between Genesis and Original NES. Ended up choosing NES... because Duck Hunt was awesome.

i voted other.

Though i do like games on nintendo consols and xbox (Starfox 64, starfox adventures, Sly 2, halo2 ect)

Though id have to say my biggest gaming friend is my PC, it simply is better to use for video games, and you can get games up to 10 times better on the PC then on consols...(Half-life, half-life 2, Call of duty ect)

I vote the genesis or "mega drive" as it was called around these parts for several reasons. Firstly it's the first games console I ever owned so there's nostalgia value. Secondly, it's practically indestructible compared to certain other console (no names mentioned) that can break down for no reason a few weeks after getting them. And lastly, I can emulate it if I want new games instead of spending £40 at a time. '<img'>
its the oddest thing. I really didnt see this coming! We had dinner and talked about going over to his mother's house on Sunday and about getting a puppy. I thought things were getting serious. Then I wake up on Thursday and hes not here! just like that - gone! I asked some of his buddies in the system 32 folder but they didnt know what happened. I just dont understand.........
