Well the name Mik was something that friends of mine started calling me after the little 'mik' noises that I make when I get excited. Genocide was added because it is my stage name. We had a theme going in my band Arc Of Vomit. My Guitarist is Jamie Mustard Gas, and my drummers name is Pete Pot Raccoon.

i wrote a story where one of the charecters was named "romper" he was energetic, illogical, emotional, disgusting, egocentric, arrogant, sarcastic, and all that good stuff.

and the name easily adapted over to me.

I don't know whether any of you have ever had this feeling but I came across the name Varden and it just felt right. Its not the most exciting or mystical name but I'm not either as a person. I'm also very aware its a male name but I'm slightly more masculine then the average girl anyway so it suits me even more.
Yep thats all there is to it and I'm very fond of my name so I wouldn't ever change it  '<img'>

My fursona is part wolf, and in Russian "bolk" means "wolf"..."nitsa" is just a common feminine suffix.  I guess I thought it sounded cool together, and testified to my language love...so there you have it!

QUESTION - Is starting a new account allowed? Because I really want to change it..thegreatsockmonkey is a bit outdated...

ANYWAY..onto my names:

Halspin (The Barking Dork) - My current fursona. It was something random that popped up into my head and it stuck.

Sockmonkey - My secondary fursona. Same thing. How interesting.

Miss Kitty was the name of my very 1st stray who adopted me when I was 6 yo; I had her until her untimely demise @ 18 years later. In tribute 2 my best, and ofttimes ONLY friend, I decided 2 take on her namesake with a bit of tweaking Ms. instead of Miss...

Ah, too lazy to make up a furry name. So I'll just use the shortened version of my real one until the day I make something I like up.

Patrick Rangerwolf

Patrick is my RL name.  Rangerwolf comes from LOTR's Aragorn's other name, the Ranger.  It combines my love for the wolf and the Tolkien books.

Long before I was ever a furry I created the character Kayla Tiger, then when I tried making a avatar for myself I had everything but the name. So I asked my dad what a cool name was and he said "Howl" and I guess it triggered something to make me remeber the name "Hol".

I saw no need to change Hol Tiger to anything when I became a furry.

My two "mini"fursonas (They were my Anthro characters in a D&D space game I played a while back, they were a couple) were:

Rekkan:  Male Wolf-Anthro
Kelmmira:  Female Feline-Anthro

The names just came to me and fit somehow.  At first they were, "just characters" but they are very close to me.  They sort of represent the relationship I would like to have later in life.  Now they are just a fabrication of my imagination that inspires internal art and poetry that I have yet to manifest into something I can share with other people externally.

Professor Brody from Indiana Jones. Of course, people have told me "We're going to need a bigger boat." and "done any stinkpalms lately?" But now you know the truth. '<img'>

Catsmouth was the name of a city in a D&D game I ran once. It was a port city at the mouth of the Cat River. The founding settlers took the name, and then the city did too. (I find it interesting that in any city named after a settler, the number of people with that name is high. Makes sense...)

And there you have..Brody Catsmouth!

The name popped into my head as I was drawing him . . . as a safeguard, I always Google any name i come up with to make sure it doesn't mean something like "diseased office furniture" in another language.  "Tensik", though I literally just pulled it out of the air, it turns out is a Turkish word, which means "to reorganize" or "to put in order"; from the context given, I'm assuming it's actually pretty close to "filing" in English.  I could REALLY stretch and say that it fits because I'm "reorganizing" my perceptions of myself by becoming a part of the furry fandom, but I'd be lying; I'm just happy it doesn't mean anything disgusting.  '<img'>

I never thought about a name till not too long ago.  I had an obsession with a german song "das tier in mir(wolfen)" meaning, "the animal in me".  It's a song about werewolves, and the name tickled my fancy.  And sexy name, Tensik.  *edited by Sporty- keep it PG*

I pulled my name out of the air and went with it... Actually, it isn't even spelled correctly.  I'd intended on spelling it Miekko, but it's Meikko on my tag....

I'm also curious, how you all would pronounce 'Meikko'.  The spelling is 'incorrect', it would be pronounced 'Mee Ko' if it were spelled correctly.  Meikko, I think would be either 'May Ko'  or 'My Ko'

Something I found out later, from my brother who took... I believe it was Japanese, was that 'mei' meant 'knitted' and 'kko' was something along the lines of 'japanese theater actor'.

It was.... odd.

Well, I read it as "Mee Ko", like the raccooon in Pocahontas, but you're right, "Mey ko" would probably be much more accurate.

Todd was created when I was very young after (of course) seeing the movie the Fox and the Hound. Foxworthy was added at a slightly older age as a more formal Last name while I was writing a fiction about him, though Todd prefers to be referred as such, simply Todd.

Todd + Foxworthy = Todd Foxworthy

I used to use the name "Silenis" (pronounced Si-lehn-is) in online games, but I never really thought of a name for my fursona...  but one day I got to thinking and realized that the word that name was based off of (Silence) would be a nice, simple name.  And well, I think it stuck...  '<img'>

I really haven't put any thought into a name for my Fursona yet, but eh..I'll get around to it sooner or later. I want it to be something that a raccoon would name though..Something starting with a letter "R" or something sounding sneaky or tricky. ^^
