Spark Core (development board)
« on: June 01, 2013, 09:34:45 pm »
I've been browsing Kickstarter for fun lately, and came across a project today for the Spark Core. It's a Wi-fi enabled, Arduino-compatible development board. More details can be found at their website.

I've never actually tinkered around with an Arduino board before, but it's something I've always wanted to try out. So I decided to get the board with the RC car kit. I figured that having a kit to work with would be a good first-time exposure to using one. Then perhaps later on I can look into doing some much more creative things with it. Not that the project really needed another backer, though. They asked for $10k, and got over $500k...

At any rate, I should be getting the kit toward the end of September, if they stay on schedule.  I'll post and update when I get it. I'm pretty excited. Just figured some of the other tinkerers here might be intrigued by the device.

The raspberry PI gpio is also very nice for projects also.  Direct access from python too.
