Bought the entire Douglas Adams "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" book set at the library today. It was on the Clearance shelf and I bought it for only 25 cents.  :D The books are all in great shape. The box that they came in not so much as I'll have to use scotch tape on it.

My good news is that possibly my caffeine withdraw is turning the corner.  I can actually speak clearly now.

Made a pretty quick recovery from covid glad to be back to almost 100%. From what I've read my taste and smell may not return for weeks or months so that's the only sucky thing.

From what I've read about Covid, nobody ever truly gets back to being 100% normal after recovering from covid. Your loss of smell and taste might be the least of your worries. Covid can affect your body in other ways you might not even realise.

I finished my novel Iara's Crossing a couple of weeks ago, and it's in the hands of beta readers!  :D

Edited to add: I am interviewing one of my favorite authors on my new podcast, Dreaming About Dinosaurs, this weekend! Excited for that!  :D

Most of you know I make reproductions of antique Christmas items. I've been researching spun cotton ornaments for years now. I know there are a hand full of American Youtube sites with this craft. But like most American crafts they have the skill level of a six year old. If it can't be done in five minuets it takes to long to make. Some of these sites are dead wrong in their materials and instructions. Most Youtube sites that have instructions for this craft are in Russian. The rest are in a hand full of other Eastern European languages. I've spent years using Google translate to go through the comment sections on videos. This works to a point. This is what I would get. if I copied "russin russian hockn" the translation would be " I use Hockn" Not a lot of help. Hockn could be anything from a product name to a name given to a substance you make yourself. ( just for reference. Hockn is Russian for socks )  For the first time ever there is a Youtube channel in English! With a heavy Russian accent. Most of the comments are written in English. I can ask questions in English!

A good portion of antique spun cotton ornaments are animals. Quite a few are anthro. Christmas. The most furry holiday of the year.

Woo hoo! Congratulations! If finishing a novel doesn't give one a sense of accomplishment, I don't know what will. It's a lot like climbing a mountain, only climbing a mountain is easier. I hope your beta readers give you good feedback!

Thank you! So far, some minor things to consider adding, but I am hoping my readers are enjoying what I wrote, at the very least. If not, I will know what I need to do to improve so that my story can be heard! :)

Congrats on the Book Iara! That's a lot of dedication. Really looking forward to hearing more good news about this soon.

My furnace is fixed!!! Well, sort of. It's running and I have a nice warm house now. Still needs a bit more work. That will come Wed.

My brother's golden retriever is recovering from emergency surgery. He got in the trash and chewed up some rib bones.

One beta reader's comments have been received out of five--and they love my story! I am so happy! Yes, there are areas of improvement, but the enjoyment is the most important part regardless of the flaws. I'm hoping my other betas love my story too, and it's encouraging to read the commentary I received and feel like I AM doing the right thing in finishing my novel this year! *happy tears*

The patch job I did on the leaky PVC pipe mentioned on another thread appears to be working out.

I got my car back! And the breaks actually work. And best of all it didn't cost a small fortune.

The roofer came to inspect my roof and give an estimate. The estimate was within my expectations.
