mine actually doesnt involve the internet! ( i was suprised to see there are others who...evolved this way)
I always drew, I have always drawn comics and had characters that were close to me, since the earliest days (yes I did TOO have friends, lol) anyway, like many little kids I made them cuddly animals all was well and good...
...until adolescence , then I made my characters...sexy..and so my standards of what I could find attractive became what mainstream America would classify as bizarre
Even now that my years long running plotline has concluded, I opened up a new world for me to create, very serious with people getting arms and heads chopped/blown off and massive armies representing my interpretations of different human cultures clashing against each others with wierd religious overtones...even then I decided to keep the characters "furry" it would seem unnatural for me to change that basic fundamental after all this time. Of course they are not labeled as species as we often do, I maake up their cultures and their appearance too, but the overall appearance tends to be either canineish or catlike with the primary bad guys being lizards
Then again you could classify them all as badly disguised culture groups too so wahtever....
