Hurray! I've made it to the semi-big leagues. It's been a fast ride up and I'm hoping I don't get the bends as a result.
*clears his throat and and hold up his speech*

"It is a great honor to see the amount of trust and faith the staff here have in me. I feel flattered and humbled at this position and at seeing just how much I mean to my fellow staff here. Furtopia has been a good home forum to me and to know that now I will be helping to maintain the same standards that made it so welcoming when I first arrived warms my heart. I haven't been here long but I feel like I've been here so much longer than I really have. As a new Mod I promise I will try hard to live up to the responsibility and trust that have been given me. To all the staff who believed in me and helped me to this position I say 'thank you'. I will prove your decision a wise one."

Congrats Kalo. I'm glad to hear that you will no longer be watching my posts as you used to have been. Oh, wait. Mods have greater post viewing privies. Durn it! I feel your eyes on me all the time, you're watching me right now, I just know it.

Nah now that I'm in a higher position I won't do as much watching, now I can take direct action! Er, provided I follow the guidelines and rules and don't step on the tails of the staff. Truth be told I feel nervous about this position but am easing into it. It's a strange feeling to look around and try to get over seeing the staff, like admins and the mods, as equals.
When I first arrived I was nervous anytime I got a PM from Kobuk or WS or another staff member because I enjoyed the boards so much and didn't want to rustle anyones fur. And while those PMs were always lighthearted I always wondered what they thought of me. Call it paranoia. :-[ Now that I'm in a position of semi-power and weild a lot of responsability here I still feel like that same little wolf who first arrived. Maybe it's because I've risen so fast, (I've barely been here over a year) maybe it's because I'm not used to being respected. Nevertheless I recognise the trust the staff have in me and I want to work hard to live up to their expectaions. I feel proud that I've come to this position.
The only thing I can liken it to is like the first time you stand on almost equal footing with your parents, when you see that they don't quite see you as an immature kid anymore and your folks start to feel more like friends than your parents. It's a strange feeling and hard to describe.
I hope that makes sense to at least someone out there.

Aw man, do we really not come off as equals? :( We're not on some higher plane, honest! I hate being imposing. It's difficult for a rabbit as majestic as I to not be imposing, I know, but I'm working on it.

Lol, Dont tell no ones! But I was an Admin for a Forum called Wasabi a while back. I understand where y'all are coming from.
I dont see y'all as might thorian Gods... (Except Blast and his mighty Ban-Hammer of Doom... O.o)
I see y'all more as people chilling on the other side (Possibly drinking root beer or mountain dew) while watching Stephen Colbert. Or eating fast food. Erh pay'n bill or stuff. o.O
Same as me just furries. (What if god were one of us. Just a slob like one of us.)

Hey I'm a Mod now, I got a ban hammer.... Granted it's more like a ban-mallet...With a rubber end... And I gotta get permission to use it first. But I still has a hammer. :) Sorta. ;)
And as for the equality thing it's more an exerience gap. Arbutus, Kobuk Weiss and the rest have far more experience than me. This is my first time being in such a position on a forum so I have lots to learn so I can bring my own personal Shroud touch to the job.
