Furtopia will now be opening up “Town Meetings” on the Furtopia IRC. Members of course are still free to PM any mod/staff with any question they may have on Furtopia. However trying to help encourage more in depth communication between staff/mods and members Furtopia will host it's first official "Town Meeting” on the first Sunday of August 2006 at 9PM EST on Furtopia irc: http://irc.furtopia.org in channel #mods . At this time Furtopia mods/staff will invite members into the #mod room to discuss questions/concerns with a respectful back and forth exchange discussion format. So if you have ideas, would like to talk, or been waiting to send that PM for 7 months

The “Town Meet” time frame shall run from 9PM-10PM EST but may be extended at the option of the mods/staff. Members who would like to join should send a PM to Kada-Ru with a description of your topic (will be reposted to the mod/staff team) you would like to discuss. Some members will be taken in groups or single depending on topic and need. Members will be called in the order they requested ( PM time/date ) to join the town meet.

Future town meetings will be held at 9PM on the first Sunday of each month.

So is with only for members with questions/concerns? I mean, it sounds like it could be interesting to sit in on. Will that kind of thing be allowed?

For the first hour staff will talk with each other over issues relating to the board. After that we'll be taking formal input/discussion from furs who have requested a one-on-one meeting with the staff. Meetings may be private depending on the requesting member's wishes and issues.

We're kind of playing this by ear this first time and will make improvements/changes on how this works out.

Because of the lack of members showing up as well as staff being busy this sort of died out.

Well there was a post a few back in the suggestion forums with something similar to this. It just crossed my mind this would be nice to be ran again and let others know.

If enough regular members wish to show up one can be set up. Like stated above, it died out because there was no interest by members.

I'd like to sit on on the town meeting but so far I have no issues that need to be brought up so far I'm liking this site and it helps me understand myself being a furry alot easier then any other site.
