Should it be up to individual states if they want to segregate "whites" and "coloreds"? I really don't see where it's all that different. Both cases are issues of irrational fear from bigoted individuals. While the people in question just want dispose of bodily waste while retaining their dignity doing so, the same as anyone else that needs to use those facilities.
Much of this does fall back on States rights over the federal gov. At least that's
the one big excuse those who are against it claim. It's mostly just old ideas
that people cling to. They use any excuse to justify discrimination.
Unfortunately the GOP has made running against the LGBT a party standard. So
anywhere they have power you can expect them to come up with laws to
punish or discriminate against them.
