The Voice of your Fursona...
« on: May 06, 2010, 06:38:22 pm »
This is something interesting I was thinking of for The Shadow of the Dog Lord when trying to do voices for my game.

Suppose Hollywood or someone similar approached you wanting to use your fursona as a character in a movie.  Which actor/actress would you want to play the voice of him or her, if it couldn't be yourself?

Hmm, for me I'm not sure yet...but Fenrir's gotta have a deep baritone voice, so I'd say Sir Christopher Lee gets my top vote (but if he was still around, I'd say Tony Jay, since Lee was already the villain in a fantasy movie ;) )

Baritones are over-rated..I know.  I am one.  At least vocally o.o.  (Seriously!  not high enough to do anything useful, and not low enough either!)

My fursona's voice probably sounds somewhat like mine, but without the 12yearoldchainsmoker bit.

I don't know any actors or actresses, not something I've ever really followed nor cared about. (I'm like this with books too; I'll know what went on, maybe even be able to recite some of it verbatim, but there's no way I'd remember the author)

Anyways, like mine, though with better enunciation and no continuous pausing. Likely an azarian accent (from the azarian language)

Hmm... I've never really thought about that. I would love Morgan Freeman to voice my fursona just because I love his voice, but it doesn't fit at all.

It would have to be someone with a great laugh, a good hearty laugh. Hmm... my voice would be weird because it's pretty low but it doesn't sound like an adult's voice yet as I'm only 17. (Turning 18 in 3 days  :D ) But I would like it to be someone medium low. Hmm... any suggestions?

A slightly deeper Sterling Holloway, same kind of inflections and hiss/hum quality to the voice though. So, Jim Cummings since he does a fantastic Hollway impression.

Yeah, if he talked just a tiny bit higher it would be perfect.

Ironic considering his most recent role.  x_x

I never really thought about it... but whoever it was would have to speak perfect English, and have no accent.  I get teased at work because I have horrible grammar, especially when Im wrapped up in explaining something or telling a story, and my mouth is moving faster than my brain can process.  So, If a movie were to be made about my fursona, I would speak brilliantly. I hate the sound of my own voice, I guess its average pitch and all... I just dont like it.

Lucy Lawless, definitely!  She has the perfect voice, honestly, because I hear her when I think of my fursona talking.  Even when Vlada talks with an accent(her main accent is southern, like me, but she can do a mean Pirate, unlike me).

Im gonna have to say, Troy Baker. The guy who played Snow Villiers from Final Fantasy XIII. With out all the "Ill protect Cocoon" stuff of course.
"But are you going to kill her off?"
"It's not your decision. I love the character, she stays."
"Yeah, well the only thing love's done is put you in this position; I say kill her off!"
"Yeah, but you say a lot of things... and how does that work? You're a bicycle" Claudio Sanchez, In the song Ten Speed of Gods Blood and Burial, which is basically about a crazy old writer talking to his bicycle.

Kevin McDonald doing a falsetto, because that's HILARIOUS.
No, but seriously, maybe Naomie Harris, the voice of Tia Dalma from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I imagine my character would have a slight Caribbean lilt, but not nearly as pronounced as it is in Pirates. Like a cross between her real accent and Tia Dalma's accent.

Does it have to be a movie star? Can it be a singer from a band? If it can be, I would love for my fursona's voice to be Zach Smith, one of the lead singers from Pinback. I love his voice.

Well, now that accents have been brought up, it took a little while to think of in my mind, though I've come to the conclusion

A slightly younger Sam Worthington with an israeli accent :3

Something similar to Travis Touchdown. By god it FITS.  :D
Kemono Party > Furry and kemono fan realists who would rather embrace random and cuteness over being drama-queen furries, furry vs furry bashing or a furry who tries too hard. :3

Sometimes I imagine my fursona sounding a bit like Desmond from lost, although I have always loved Sean Connery's voice.

My fursona's voice sounds exactly like the late, great, Long John Baldry.

Bonus ten points to anyone who knows who he is. And don't use Google: I'll know.

My fursona's voice would be a cross between my actual voice, some posh British man, and Walt Disney.

Oh, wait, you mean voice actors? Well, I'm fairly successful at pulling off a Northern/Welsh accent, so 2/3 ain't bad.  8)  (:

Would Adam Young count?  He seems like what I would sound like as a boy, and my 'sona is a boy for some reason.

Someone with a strong Eastern European accent. "Nicholai" is a Russian/Slavic name, so he deserves a fitting accent.   :)

I would have to say Katharine Isabelle. If you don't know her, she is Ginger from the movie Ginger snaps. Her quiet, calm yet commanding voice suits my fursona AND my personality just fine.

Liam Neeson.  Partly because of his sexy voice (murrrrr)  but also because... freakin' Liam Neeson!
Even Speedwagon is afraid! D:
