Title: Planning my fursuit
Post by: DarkMynx on September 25, 2013, 03:54:29 am
Well I've been part of the furry fandom since 2010 and I've always wanted to make a fursuit. I have a fursona and I'd love to turn her into a fursuit but I have no idea where to start :/ I know I need to do a reference so I know what I'm doing but I'm just so confused. I know it's going to be expensive to...(Which I'm dreading) because if I mess up in shaping ears or tail and stuff then its going to be a waste. So does anyone know any good tutorials for beginners which I could look at? It would help so much :3 I also plan on making a moving jaw so is there any good tutorials on that too? ^-^

Go to Furaffinity, and have a look at the methods that other people use. Foam, mesh, resin bases... they all have their advantages and disadvantages.
Using a premade resin base is the easiest, because you can't get the shape wrong anymore.

When you start working, make some photos and ask others for critique.

I recommend http://fursuit.livejournal.com/ for ideas and http://honestfurcrits.livejournal.com/ for critiques. Both communities are very helpful.
