If you do decide to stick with a partial, I'd highly suggest buying clothes 1-2 sizes larger than what you normally wear specifically for the partial. You did an excellent job on the fursuit pieces themselves, but your choice of clothing to wear *with* the suit appears disproportionate to the suit.
For example, my shirt size is XL, but the shirt I wear with my partial (the one on the left of the pic shown
here) is size 3XL. In addition, my waist size as of the time of that pic was 36 inches, but the shorts had a waist size of 38 inches (they stay on because I wear a belt to keep both them and my tail secure). Even though the clothes were somewhat huge on me, they appeared proportionate because the parts of my body that are covered by my suit appear larger than they actually are.
I have to say that that's an *excellent* suit for your second attempt at making one. You did a nice job!
