Furry Hygiene, a thought of the H&S future
« on: April 09, 2008, 10:29:47 am »
Ive been thinking: If anyone ever invents a 'Fursona Machine' the Health and Safety/ Enviomental Health regulations are going to be in turmoil so lets give them a helping hand for the future, just think of any signs, rules or practises that'll need to be changed due to furry intervention.

eg: for the theme parks: " please keep arms, legs (fore and rear) and tails in the vehicle at all times during the ride.
I maybe offline fur some time since I am now on active duty and im being shipped off to afganistan today (22/04/08Z). dont worry I'll come back alive :D

Health and Safety. The bane of my life.

"Please keep claws safley retracted all times"

"Please refrain from eating the animals in the petting zone" for the predators amoung us.

Also, anything that may stick to fur should obviously carry a warning.

Pets name: Harry
Welcome to the abandoned land
Come on in, child; Take my hand
Here there's no work or play
Only one bill to pay
There's just five words to say
As you go down, down, down

You're gonna burn in hell!

For certain jobs(mainly thoses where long hair is not the smartest move): Fur must be (incert length here) or shorter or must be caontained in some way.

I just pictured a fur in a body-sized hairnet. :D

And when it comes to who sits next to the emergency doors on the plane, avians get those seats

"You must be able to carry (insert wieght based on payload capacity) to sit here as YOU may be required to help keep the plane up in the event of an engine faliure."

Toilets will have to be modified to allow tails to hang over the back side of it to prevent it getting in the way and creating sanitation problems.

Factories with lots of machinery will have to require workers to tuck their tails into their jeans any time they go around the equipment lest their tails get caught in the gears.

Those in foodservice would make the complaint "Hey Waiter, there's a hair in my food" a lot more prevalent.

You forgot to take canine tendencies in to account.

Canines are prohibited to stick head out side of window while operating motor vehicle.
The again Canines would prefer motorcycles and have problem with helmet laws.

Correction: "please keep arms, legs (fore and rear), head and tails in the vehicle at all times during the ride.
Correction! Let's go simple with this one: "Please keep all body parts within the vehicle at all times during this ride."

(not really hygenic but it kind of goes with the topic, my appoligies for derailing it)

7 habits of effictive anthro employes.
1. Growling and or Snarling at Co-workers is probly not the best way to keep them in line.
2. Nuzzling, Hugging, or licking a Co-worker is probley not the best way to tell them "job well done"
3. While Takeing a 3 hour nap seems like a good idea, at work its probly not in your best intrest.
4 Don't sniff the behind of new employes.
5. Keep drooling to a minimum. Especialy druing board meetings. board refers to the staff not your mood during said meeting.
6. Keeping your name on something is a good way to announce that its yours, Marking it isn't.
7. Yes its shiney, No you probly shouldnt take it.

Being a safety nerd, I wanted to throw this in:

Manager: Here at ACME Manufacturing, we pride ourselves in safety!

OSHA Inspector: Hmm... Well, that piece of machinery isn't guarded well enough to prevent a tail getting sucked into that belt drive... (scribbles on a clipboard)... And our recent accident log says you've had three tail deglovings in the past year...

Manager: (sweating bullets) But you have to admit our incident rates are down since we started hiring natural bobtails!

OSHA Inspector: (groans) Great. Now I have to report you to the Labour Board  because you have been discriminatory in your hiring process...

Manager: -<censored>-!!!
