No, you don't. Where are the images hosted?
You were trying to do a link to the whole DA page, not the image specifically. Right click the image, select "copy image link", and then post that within the [ img] tags.
It is also worth noting you CANNOT currently embed images from FA. It just doesn't work.
Wow, this is awesome! I especially love the lighting and backgrounds~
Well drawn..Glad you like it! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. :orbunny:
Wow, this is some pretty cool art! :)Thank you!
I don't think I'd be able to put so much onto one page, and much less have it come out looking so nice.
Keep up the nice work. I can see the Redwall style in your fan art. I enjoy
watching the animated series of Redwall myself. :orbunny:
These are great pieces! (:
You have very nice art, keep up the good work :D
Your art looks really nice. Many thanks. ;)
I like Basil too. They did a nice job with their selection of the vocal actors. I enjoy all animation that is well done.
I see you like the large Panda fighter. Po if I remember right. Stories of good and evil are generally popular in
animation.
I also enjoyed the "Watership Down" animated series too. In fact I have it and Redwall both. Also the movie
with the Panda fighter too. :orbunny:
Looking good.. I have only read one of the Redwall books. Seems theI've read through almost all of them, but only own two. Those I got from betterworldbooks.com - which usually has very good prices on used books. I've tried ebooks before but they bug my eyes too much after awhile. :P
publisher doesn't approve of amazons Kindle ebook lending plan. For
the Redwall series anyway..
Thanks for sharing. :orbunny:
All of these are great! I really like the motivational poster. ;)Thank you - glad to hear it! I actually have another one of those: I'll post it.
Why do I sense a rabbit revolution coming? :o
*prepares to fortify defenses* :D
Why do I sense a rabbit revolution coming? :o:D I will be including other animals eventually, but right now I'm mostly focusing on a handful of characters to get them fleshed out. These ones are actually part of a bigger group, which includes raccoons and otters so far.
*prepares to fortify defenses* :D
These are really good! I especially like your group picture ^-^Thank you very much!
Nice artwork, good work with the action too. :orbunny:Thank you - glad the motion-capture looks good!
Old Rabbit :orbunny:
I love those battle-ready rabbits!
I'm also digging that series of Redwall sketches, the style just draws my attention for some reason, and the vibe they give off is really great. I'm not actually familiar with the Redwall books-- I think one of my siblings has read a few, though, since I do remember seeing them with things checked out from the library, once upon a time...
The Ratchet and Clank picture had some good atmosphere to it, as well.
Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your art with us!
It's good to see rabbits who can protect themselves. :D
Good work Holt :orbunny:
Good job on the drawing Holt.
I always liked drawing with a pencil. Working with shading and highlights
to give the picture a more realistic look..
Now that should keep them safe from biological attack, or spraying for fleas. :D
Nice drawing. :orbunny:
I love Redwall art! The one I like best is the one you did with the black/white negative where you did multiple species to show off your range of artistic ability. The rabbit photos holding guns reminds me of some crazy computer CGI short where a bunch of rabbits were fighting with guns in the middle east.
I like traditional pen/paper art because that's what I'm most familiar with so I like the sketches because it shows your natural talent with your hands. Keep it up!
Monochrome or colored?
Awesome - thanks for the feedback!QuoteMonochrome or colored?
I like the colored better. :)
Hmmm...tough call. I like the colored a lot, but the monochome version reminds me of wedding photos when couples want a black and white shot or two. I guess it will come down to what works best for you comic book and what doesn't stick out like a sore thumb (one colored picture when the rest aren't, or vice versa).
On Redwall, certainly possible we could see more art if that game ever gets off the ground. There's a lot of Redwall art already out there though, even before the game was brought to light. It could rekindle a lost fire I suppose when the author died. I was a mod of that official forum when it was all announced so I saw things come and go, but it didn't look like some of the recent stuff was going anywhere.
I say ole chap, Jolly good work. As the Hares of the Redwall stories would say. :orbunny:
These are SO great!!
There is a creature who would give you a chill if not expected.
That drawing turned out nice. :orbunny:
You did well with the feral drawing of a Badger. They are bad tempered
creatures. Not afraid to use tooth and claw.
It's always nice to see detailed backgrounds in a drawing.Your compliments are a continuous inspiration, Old Rabbit - thanks. :)
Characters are well done too.
Thanks for sharing. :orbunny:
More good work.
Thanks for sharing. :orbunny:
Fantastic art! Love the perspective. (:
You did a nice job on the vermin. Not that they deservced it. :DThank you very much!
Of course all those rats, foxes, weasles, ferrets, stoats, snakes,
crows, make the stories exciting.
I sometimes think Redwall would find it hard do feed more than
one Hare. LOL :orbunny:
That illustration for Redwall is fantastic! (:
Your highlights and shading bring your drawings to life.
Keep up the nice work. :orbunny:
I really like this character! She reminds me of an old fursona I had, my first one, a skunk named Selma. Great detail! Love the dress! Thanks! Glad you like it. :)
That is a nice drawing.Thank you!
Looks like a Redwall squirrel. :orbunny:
I love the reflection in the water! :D
I love the reflection in the water! :DGlad you like it! I don't do a lot of mirroring in my drawings, and this was a good opportunity so I had to give it a shot. I almost ended up copying and posting the original upright image as the reflection using the computer, but then I felt like I would be cheating myself if I did. So the only computer effects I used were with the highlighting and for the blur effect on the reflection.
Seconded! You've got some really nice art in here. Like Old Rabbit, I'm impressed with the detail of your background.Thank you - I appreciate it! The details are really what make drawings fun for me. And yet, sometimes simpler is way better. This latest one has been one of the quickest and simplest drawings I've done in a long time, yet it has a much clearer, cleaner look to it than anything else I've worked on. I'm finding more and more that it's not so much about the amount of detail as it is about the use of detail.
Your doing a fine job on your art. Nothing like detail to make a
picture look nice.
It's always nice to see imaginative creatures posted.
Nice work. :orbunny:
Ho! Is that Folgrim?
Or Furgrim Otter. :orbunny::D
Maybe he should be the next Skipper of Otters then he wouldn't need an original name. ;) In Redwall anyway it always seemed to be the next Skipper always lost their given name. Always looking forward to your Redwall art!
The one pic of the story drawing version of Watership Down convinced me to watch it again the other day.
Could call him Matey or Captain if you wish to avoid Skipper. Those could work too, lol.
Or Furgrim Otter. :orbunny:
Nice job on the backgrounds. Not counting the rabbit who is looking
back at the viewer. Perhaps he his hiding easter eggs. :orbunny:
(http://img06.deviantart.net/dfc4/i/2017/091/6/b/stormfront_by_holt5-db4celk.png)I really like these two, particularly the top one. The background and posture say so much, and you've made the gloom beautiful.
Yes they turned out well. I think most people enjoy
a drawing more with a good background setting.
Old Rabbit :orbunny:
Love the artwork Holt, quite the unique style and covering a lot of different era's. A suggestion with DPU (Military uniform) Have a look at the different types as there is more then one that can cover a particular setting. Sometimes its more then just contrasting colors and patterns that can make a uniform trick the eye (unless that is the look you are going for). You seem quite good with the use of both positive and negative space. I know what that's like to achieve. In most of your images the focal points are spot on. Keep it up/
I like the style. They look a bit like roleplaying characters IMO.Thank you!
Hey thanks, DazWizzle! With regard to DPU, I was a bit unsure of what to do with it at the time (I'm assuming you're talking about the wolf?) because on one hand I'd like the character to be visible and distinguishable for the sake of the art, but on the other hand it wouldn't make sense for it to not blend in with anything, so I was trying to meet it halfway. I figured as long as the armor was relatively close, if not perfect for the environment it would check out ok.
Yep exactly what I am taking about, and from what you have said I can understand. DPU is a difficult thing to get right. (IMO) The biggest issue is the use of colour in the positive space on the character. You have the wolf standing out quite nicely however the bright brown draws the eye down to the body, yet the eyes are a strong orange and is clearly suppose to be the focal point. The main point of DPU is similar colours. The dark brown and the green work quite well however the light brown throws the image out (by location). Instead of jungle cam (as you intended) you have accidentally chosen a closer colour scheme to whats known as desert cam. A good way to see what I am talking about is to open the image in photoshop and change the light brown to the dark and flick between the two. Gives a good perspective on the positive space of the character and where you want the focal point.
If you have any questions feel free to pm me next time your having issues and I can offer some pointers. Overall I love the image and you can see the progress of images and correct colour choices in your work as each post is added.
Holt5-Your artwork continues to improve. I love the ink and watercolor use, very nice touches. Reminds me very much of the original Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne or even Beatrix Potter illustrations. Keep up the great work! (:Thank you very much, Iara! I did ink it by hand, but the coloring is all digital: glad it looks like watercolor though because I'm terrible at actual watercoloring. :D
That Mae!! :goldlaugh: She's amazing!
I have to agree. Your work continues to improve. I like your
style of drawing animal characters.
Keep up the nice work. :orbunny:
The drawing turned out well. I like your shading. Good shading
always gives a drawing depth and brings out the details. :orbunny:
Your doing well.
Keep up the good work. :orbunny:
I really like the possum and the squirrel. Great work! (:Glad you like them, Iara! They were really fun to draw. :)
Looking good. It's always good to practice drawing differentThank you Old Rabbit! I agree with you on that - it has been interesting looking into different animals, how they are built and act.
species, and poses.. :orbunny:
You nailed the "I-have-duty-and-I'm-really-bored-please-somebody-attack-so-I-can-finally-stab-someone-with-my-spear" look on his face. Did you pick that tartan for a reason?
I have often thought it would be interesting to have a world with
anthro animal character societies. Might make the food chain difficult
but is interesting to think about, and makes for great stories, and
art that is food for our imagination.
Keep up the good work. :orbunny:
I like how well you capture the mood in a drawing. Meditation and the coal miners especially made me think of this. ... and your little monster dude is frighteningly cute.
I second Varg on the piece entitled Meditation. It is lovely. Keep up the great drawings! (:
These are amazing :D I absolutely love them.
Wow! I love all of these.
The last two, what medium, graphite and paper? Digital?
I like how you captured the glint of light on the sword.
Very nice!

Holt5, I think you have a device that allows you to go to a real anthro world, and you are taking pictures!Ha ha - thanks, Jade! I kinda wish that were the case. :D
8)
Nice!
That pensive gecko is awesome...thanks for sharing! :D
So awesome, I mean, dang Holt5!
Nice subjects, nice facial expressions! I still think you are getting into an interdimensional transporter and going to somewhere and sketching the people there, just saying.
So if I may ask... how long does it take you to get "started" , and then how long does it take you to finish it?
Does it start slow and then speed up as it takes form? What's the hardest part for you?
For me, I can barely get started with a drawing, and then it takes me forever to get something done. Then it looks like junk. But I know I am not an artist, so...hey.
Good work!
:)
Holt5-lovely work as ever, thank you so much for sharing!!
Those mice remind me of the mice characters from the Disney film The Rescuers. Gawd, I haven't seen that movie in ages.
Are the mice a watercolor on paper?
