What fursuiters or furry performer/artist/puppeteer have you followed for quite some time, but has either left the fandom, passed on, or has simply gone "dark"? I have a few examples:
Roxikat--the big pink she-male cat person of AC fame
Foxwell--Raccoon/fox hybrid fursuit
Foxerz --tuba-playing fox fursuit
-
Unfortunately the ones I follow were "dark" already when I found them.
I only know of one clean artist, Old Rabbit.
All the others.... Not so clean. :(
-
Oki Doki Coyote was active at Oklakon and TFF for several years, then gave up fursuiting.
-
There were a lot of good artists I used to enjoy seeing on Furtopia that I now miss. Names like:
Patrick Rangerwolf
Ulario
Hockeyraven
Autumn Fire
Sheeta
Kattywampus
.........and too many others to list. :(
-
I remember I watched a couple artists on FurAffinity that drew really cute, clean furry art. But then they started posting weird fetish stuff and taking NSFW commissions. Since I really don't like fetish or NSFW art, this was really disappointing to me.
-
I enjoyed seeing the Summer Vixen fursuit in skits posted on YouTube from Further Confusion such as The Fursuit Spam Skit and Last Will & Temperament. A pleasant looking vixen character without the exaggerated features one often finds on femme suits piloted by dudes. 2009 was her last appearance IIRC.
-
The guy who wrote the Winds of Change stories, Jon Sleeper. He has an email address, but I haven't had the chance to try to contact him. He's pretty much inactive, and never finished Winds of Change, which is a shame. It's a beautiful story. Now he only works through a mailing list he started, and a separate wiki site. But besides that he's completely dropped out of the fandom AFAIK.

Early on, Sheeta and I realized we actually live nearby each other and we'd infrequently seen each other even before we met here because she was one of the managers at the comic book shop I would go to. She just recently left that job to focus on her art, but she almost always has a booth at MFF :)
We're also friends on facebook.

My chief go-to fursuit maker--Silverluna Timberwolf--left the fandom about two years ago. She had gone through a life-changing event and just became burned out. She sold all of her fursuit-making supplies but follows me on FB. I will have to maintain my suits as best as I can. Already had to replace a set of springs in my main fursuit headpiece. :o.
-
Looks like Foxwell was in the Doo-Dah Parade this year.
Calamity Cougar is still active in the fandom, but may have hung up his fursuit for good.
-
every now and then, certain names or fursuits that I remember from the past come into my mind and I wonder whatever happened to those people. maybe some of them are still around and I just don't hear about them, and maybe some have actually left the fandom altogether. here's a few that come to mind at the moment ---
Rose Quoll
Jax the Bat
Radjin
Far Raptor
Silver Linz (she recently posted a new fursuit on twitter but I always wondered why she stopped taking commissions and appeared to become distant from the fandom)
I know there's a lot more, but that's all that comes to mind at the moment
-
>.>; *probably qualifies as someone who has faded*
Not any less interested in the fandom, just busy with games and RL. And stress from things IRL
-
Rose Quoll
^ The last thing that I remember from years ago was that she may have gotten into some sort of legal trouble regarding her fursuit making business and had to close it down. Not sure though.
Far Raptor
^ He might still go by that name. But I think his new name (or that of one of his fursuit characters) is called Far Outthere. Last I heard of him, he got married, has a daughter now, and is helping Beetlecat with her fursuit making business. Probably still works in oceanography too.
-
Far Raptor is one name I haven't heard of in a while.
The duo of Blotch has separated and since then I haven't seen a whole lot of BlackTeagan's work...her comic Oren's Forge is delayed by a month. Kenket posts regularly on FA. I miss their collaborations and I wonder what happened?
-

Thanks for the nice comment. I have always frelt there is enough adult
art online without me adding more..
We have had many good/excellent artists on furtopia. Unfortuantly many post
their work elsewhere any more. Those that Kobuk mentioned are most of those
I remember. I imagine some have moved into careers doing commerical art.
Getting a job as an animator or comic artist is extreemly competitive. Big
studios like Disney require college degrees in art. Even then it's difficult to
get accepted.
-
The dudes who ran our local furry forum got married in NV and left the fandom about two years ago.

Lucky and Skuff Coyote (Don't Hug Cacti Studios) haven't been too active since they were GOH at MCFC 2015. Though a video may have been posted on their YouTube channel a few months ago. Lucky's FA page has been inactive for almost two years. Met Lucky at GLFC 2014 and had her draw in my sketch book. In addition to building fursuits, she was a clean artist. Ever so charming, she introduced me to Skuff as "My Other Boyfriend". :-[
Yippee Coyote said he was working on a new version of his character, but that was over two years ago. He has other fursuits, including an otter and a GSD, but has posted nothing on FA in a few years. Also a clean artist.
Lemonade Coyote was a fan of mine and I may have met him at FCN. He was killed when his ambulance was struck by another vehicle several years ago. His fursuit may still be making the rounds though.
-
Rapid T. Rabbit passed away earier this year. We were about the same age.
The Funday Pawpet Show has finally closed up shop.

I seem to recall Lucky being at MFF in 2015, so they made it another few months unless I'm remembering someone else.

Hodari, a cartoony male African Lion last appeared in the very funny skit "Lion King of The Hill" at TFF a few years ago in the Hank Hill role. He was one of my first watchers on FA, but appears to be inactive.
-
Destinii The Cupcake Husky had attended at least one AC and had an active FA account. A pink & white husky fursuit. Left the Fandom about two years ago.
-
Just looked up Skye La Lux/Imaginary Skye to discover that he has disabled his FA account. Skye is a grey fox partial fursuit character who resides in St. Marys, PA. He is pals with Sozan Ryker and was a regular on the DifFuRently Channel on YouTube. His funniest YouTube video IMHO is the Strange Addictions parody in which he speaks of his addiction to glitter.
The fursuiter formerly known as Camo Rovak has closed his YouTube channel. He was the force behind the Rick's Big Adventure series.

That's a shame--I really enjoyed the content of DifFuRently and CamoRovak! :/
-
Pretty Kitty/The Empty Shadow.
Chanced upon a standup comic act by this fursuiter who hails from Alberta, Canada. However, his FA account hasn't updated in over two years.
-
Calamity Cougar is living in Memphis now. He'll be at Mephit Furmeet and Fangcon this year. Yippee Coyote is still very active. The last time I saw Camo Rovak was at Megaplex in 2016.
I was very disappointed with the Funday Pawpet Show closing down. The free server they were using to stream the show suddenly shut down. And Yappy Fox who ran the show for 17 years was just burned out doing it and having to ask for money to pay for new equipment and royalties so they could play music on the show.
A lot of furries have abandoned posting on FA and are using Weasyl, Twitter, Telegraph, Instagram or Facebook.
(PS: Hi everyone, I haven't been on Furtopia in a long time, glad its still going strong!)
-
Eggplantman has disappeared. The fate of Catswhisker is unknown. Borni's got a LOT of health issues...
-
Greifer Fox has retired his old threadbare suit in grand fashion. A new one is now in play.

They decided to bring back the Funday Pawpet show, even though they will put out an episode once a month and no outside music.

Learned that furry artist and fursuiter Robert Bear passed away last week.
-
The suiter once known as Camo Rovak sold his fursuit, changed his name to Eigen Rovak (I think) and removed his fursuiting videos from public viewing on YouTube.
-
The GSD suiter known as Dogbomb passed on some months ago.
-
MTigress, who posts on YouTube, and appeared--in fursuit--at FC 07 in a James Bond 007 fursuit parody. She has not updated her channel in six years.
-
Haven't seen anything from either Jase Husky or Kellogg Collie in over a year.
-
What happened to everyone its heart breaking to see everyone abandoned ship
-
I befriended Rabbitfangs only months before he passed on.
-
Discovered an amazing harajuku fursuiter--a furry lolita--named Albino Coyote recently on FA. Several years ago, she moved to Traverse City, MI and idled her FA account. Her other furry account address appears inactive. I'd apply a "heartbroken" emoji were one available.
-
My pal Zippy Coyote, who lives in Maryland and was setting up furry bowling meets, went silent on FA some months ago due to illness.
-
Has anyone heard from John "Eggplantman" Mann? He was the artist behind the Zodiac webcomic.
-
We have learned that the fursuiter known as Tycho Aussie has shut down his FA account. He may have gone inactive due to a number of RL issues. An attendee at both AC and MCFC, also GLFC 14.
-
Oh man! That stinks! I loved his photos! :(

We hung out at a few cons. He's a science teacher at MSU and a ham radio guy. Caught Lyme disease some months ago, but apparently okay now. He posted a furry meme on FB today.
-
I was going to crack a joke about a furry getting ticks and getting Lyme disease, but it's not a joking matter really. Glad he is still with us !
I'll have to send him a flea and tick collar, maybe 20" ?
-
Kooky recently resurfaced after not posting for years.
-
Many furs get as much of what the Fandom offers as they can. Some travel the country, if not the world, to attend furry events. As much as time and budget will allow. It's likely to be able to attend a furcon or major meet each weekend--barring pandemics as is presently the case.
So easy to burnout. Some speak of post-con-depression. People change and so do events. These are facts of life. Learn to accept it and roll with the punches. Just remember that you're not alone and you have friends here who also experience these things. Keep calm and carry on.
-
I found out Warren Hutch has died!
-
Sorry I was was not very active but Cloudchaser Sakonige has passed away suddenly in October 2019.
-
There were a lot of good artists I used to enjoy seeing on Furtopia that I now miss. Names like:
Patrick Rangerwolf
Ulario
Hockeyraven
Autumn Fire
Sheeta
Kattywampus

Old post I know, but I'd almost forgotten about Patrick. I loved his drawings back when I was first getting rolling in the fandom.
-
I befriended a rabbit fursuiter (Peps6g73) who was an air force brat from a base I often visited here in Michigan. He suddenly expressed his frustrations with his treatment at certain cons and announced his exit from the fandom.
-
A Canadian fursuiter--CuteFoxie--used to post comments on my YouTube videos went silent a few years ago.
-
Haven't heard from Vurmin in several years, but I did try her email a couple days ago, and discovered she's still alive--just not active anymore.
-
Recently, a certain Swiss cheetah Mydeggi has announced that she's leaving the fandom and is selling her fursuit. She was a follower of mine on FA. Many of her fans were upset with the news too. Perhaps there are few furry events/activities in Switzerland. The virus taking it's toll methinks.
-
Just curious, has anybody heard if any furs faded away due to the coronavirus? Any artists, fursuiters, etc.?

The artist formerly known as BabsBunny got it a few months ago, then recovered. One of her cats died however.
-
FoxDad webcomic hasn't updated in several months.

FoxDad webcomic hasn't updated in several months.
:( I miss that comic series, along with Sabrina Online....*sigh* Guess I really *am* a graymuzzle!
-
When it comes to webcomics, I'm down to SSDD and Twokinds; everything else has either ended or stopped updating.
-
Logging on for the first time in like 12 years and this thread is exactly what I was looking for.
So many people I still remember. I wonder how Pillowmint, Kattywampus, Lobar, SportyFox, Romper, and how all the other names that are just foggy memories, are doing. Thank you old school members for sharing a part of my teenage years with me. Remember what a big deal the CSI episode was? Man, time flies.
I heard that Koogs passed away several years ago. Ante and Sunookitsune are married. I'm (hopefully) buying a house next year.
I don't know if I'll ever be back here, so to whomever finds this message in a bottle, please know that this forum meant a lot to me growing up.
If anyone wishes to keep up with me, I'm @BoomtownFox on Twitter.
Good night and good luck. I love you all!
-
Pretty awesome that you were able to step back into Furtopia after all those years. Glad Furtopia was special to you. I am a late comer here and to the fandom. But I can sort of see how this place would have been a safe and fun place for someone of that age. I wish I had found this place when I was younger. Who knows what my life would be now, probably funner!
-
Hey Taren, glad this forum means a lot to you. Always welcome to come back anytime, ya hear? (Beverly Hillbillies theme starts)
-
I follow Ace of Hearts Fox on YouTube, but he's posted nothing in almost a year.
-
I originally saw this on Facebook. Calamity Cougar is gone. :'(

So very sad. And I never met him.
:'(
-
Got to meet Calamity at my very first fur con. This guy was awesome both in and out of suite. Great sense of humor. One of the best talking fursuiters in the fandom.
-
There was CuteFoxie in Canada who often commented on my YouTube uploads. A fursuiter of course, but no word in several years.
-
Has anyone seen anything involving Drama Llama?
-
I used to watch Sunny Dingo on Youtube, but last video was years ago. Does anyone know if I am just missing out since I do not use social media?
Is he active anymore?
-
Sunny Dingo is still active on Twitter, but I don't really keep up with suiters these days on socials. There's a ton of drama with fursuit makers so I tend to avoid following fursuiters cause unfortunately the drama will follow them, too. :/
-
Speaking of dingoes: It has been some time since Durango Dingo has appeared or posted anything. I recall a message in which he was critical of meat consumption--but "feesh" is okay.
-
Just learned on FB that Fred Michels Phrez Bear just passed. COVID related. Saw him last at MCFC 2021.
-
Abrahm Lion/Space Lion, who set up photoshoots at a number of cons over the years, has shut down his online access to photo albums. According to Wikifur, his last appearance at any furcon was in 2019.
-
I am lead to believe that the artist and fursuiter, FayV, who attended college here in MI and appeared at AC and FCN--possibly other cons--had quietly left the fandom several years ago. Thought to have moved out West, she may have entered politics, becoming a PM for an island nation in The Carribean. While editing my social media, it was discovered that she reacted to several posts. Her sites bear no mention of any art or costuming however. She made the avatar which represents my account here.
