Mask for my second fursuit
« on: December 01, 2003, 04:09:14 pm »
I had a bit of metallic gold material lying around, so I decided to do a fursuit of Magnum, my golden asian dragon character.

For those of you who don't know what she looks like, here's some picts.

Mag on the beach

Anyways, I got my mask done... except for the hair.  And that may be difficult considering it's not easy to find silver hair that dosen't look like it should be on a little old granny.  I haven't decided what I'm going to use for the hair yet, but if worse comes to worse, I can use my natural hair and spray it silver with hair products.

The horns were a pain because they were so big (they're actually bigger then the picture makes them look), and I had to get them to stay on the mask.  I also found that the metallic fabric was extremely unforgiving.

You can't see it in the picture, but the jaw actually moves.

For the body,  I probably going to have traditional Japanese clothing.  I have an authentic japanese kimono somewhere in my house, but I'm too afraid to wear it so I'm probably going to end up making one when I have a little more time on my hands.  Finding the "tabi socks" is near impossible because all of the ones I've seen are made for ninjas (which would be very unflattering).

Anyhoo, I'll update this every once in a while when I get a bit further along in my costume.

Oh man that's badassed.
I  might suggest your getting a white wig and getting the silver glitter spray from Sally's beauty supply.

Can I ask how you designed your movable jaw?  I want to put them on my next fursuits and have heard different ways.  I dunno how I wanna go about it.  Your mask has a similar shape as the head(s) I'm designing now, so your input would be helpful.   ...if you wanna keep it a secret, though, I can understand.   '<img'>

But yeah... nice job.
NYA!  =^_^=
