What every forum Moderation team needs.

Is your website forum Moderator staff feeling busy? Too much spam, rude members, and other stuff to deal with? Maybe they need one of the following to cruise around in on the forums and put the pesky troublemakers where they belong!  >:( Lock and load!  :D

Hm, now I would prefer a Leopard II, but I can see why mods might want something a little more stylish.

Now we just need to make a fully functioning, full scale version. Or perhaps keep it small scale, and you can make it USB powered!

I don't know. I think the best tool for any Forum Mod would be a device that lets you punch people through the internet. A button that makes a brick loaded boxing glove pop out of the offending user's screen and pop them right in the face.
You humans need to refine, alter, corral codify and measure things yes? Very well. I shall use your wristwatch to count out ten of your seconds. I suggest you use that time to run. For at the end of it I shall come for you and I will catch you and we shall measure the duration of your death... In screams.

Oww, nuuu! That's, like, the button that you should never ever push :o

Seriously, though, I'm more of a minimalist. Moderate what needs moderation, and enjoy everything else :)

Then you're a much better mod than I was when I had my own forum. I lost patience with having to deal with the drama folks insisted on dragging onto my board and eventually shut the whole thing down. I don't know if I ever really got to the point where I wanted to punch someone but I did get very exasperated at times.

Heh, well, some might argue that I'm not a great mod.  Really, it does take patience at times, especially when you think, "You know the rules; that's art theft. Why are you mad at me for pointing that out?"  Luckily, we have a lot of staff here, so we can all share the burden.  :)

We also have more good days than bad, so things are alright here.  And if something happens, replying "Oh, oops" is a lot better than "Omygosh BLAH BLAH BLAH i HATE you!!" (which isn't too far from what I've seen at times).  I've had my own posts edited before because of one rule or another; it happens :D

I think the mods do a fine job here. No complaints from me. But being a mod takes the kind of patience I just don't have. I've been in the moderater position. I didn't like it at all mainly because I have trouble knowing how to react to people at the best of times. I have no buisness being in charge of any large group of people or even a small one for that matter. The experience taught me two things. One Mods deserve respect because what they do is much more difficult than many people think and two I never want to be a moderator again. I don't have what it takes.

robodog:  I don't want to derail the thread any more than necessary, but you're right. It does take a lot of patience to be a Mod or even still, an Admin. I've said it multiple times in the past and I'll say it again, This is not an easy job. But eventually after time, the patience does wear thin and staff do have to leave for various reasons.  :( You (or anyone else) can read more about what it's like to be a Mod in this thread here: http://forums.furtopia.org/index.php?topic=15953.0
