Toonami
« on: March 13, 2013, 09:03:00 pm »
Does anyone here watch anime on the modern Toonami?
If so, what shows on there currently do you like and dislike?
Are you looking forward to Evangelion 1.11 airing this weekend on Toonami?

In case you don't know, the modern Toonami airs: Bleach, Naruto, Soul Eater, Thundercats (not anime but part of schedule), Sym-Bionic Titan (Not anime but part of schedule), Eureka Seven, Tenchi Muyo GXP, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, and Inuyasha.

I was introduced to Miyazaki films via that Month of Miyazaki special they had several years ago.

Miyazaki films don't seem to ever disapoint. Though I didn't care too much for Princess Mononoke.
I didn't watch Miyazaki films on Toonami back in the day, though. I was too young to appreciate Toonami back then.

I haven't watched the new Toonami, but I actually watched Samurai 7 before it even came back on TV. I liked it. Not too much to it and rather easy to follow along. Although I did not care for the ending at all!

I'd rather watch my Outlaw Star DVD and see some Cowboy Bebop reruns along with Ronin Warriors and Ruroni Kenchin. You know, all the good anime's XP Ghost in the Shell and Blood + were pretty freaking awesome too. There are just so many out there! I don't even know what is on Toonami anymore XP

Trust me, most of the stuff on the modern Toonami is good too. Samurai Seven used to be on, and I like it, but I think it started out kind of boring and slowly picked up. I recorded it, and so I've nearly finished watching the series.

It was a bit slow to start. The end is really intense. I won't spoil it, but I just can't believe how they ended it.

I remember watching Toonami all the time when I was a kid.  Toonami was what got me into anime.

Loved Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop. Got hooked on Bleach and ended up watching the entire show on Hulu. Years ago there was a show called Liquid TV. I might be wrong but I think it was on MTV. It introduced the world to Ren and Stimpy along with a few other really good cartoons.
It's been said that rats can gain access to your home by climbing up threw your toilet. I prefer to use the front door.

Space Dandy, an anime that's actually airing in the United States before it airs in Japan, begins airing on Adult Swim/Toonami January 4th a half hour before Toonami used to start, as it has been expanded for a half hour.
