*shrugs* it almost feels like compairing a the same car with the only diff being their year model. It's new, but is it new enough to stand out?

Ain't that the truth? haha I'd rather have more power and be able to customize via Window Blinds than to spend over 8k on a powerful Mac Pro.

8 K?  oO;  i've only seen macs up to 3k

on another note.....  >.>;;;  *will be asking for a mac book pro either for christmas or for birthday using his college stash to payfor it*  ^^;;;  I'm waiting for the next gen macbooks.  they're supposed to have a flash drive instead of a hard drive and a touch screen to use to open apps as an alternative to a mouse pad along with the mouse pad.  but back to the subject.

pcs are far cheaper in most aspects.  x3

Go to Macs website and check out their new Mac Pro (not to be confused with the Macbook) and have fun playing with package options. Quadcore @ 3.0Ghz, 2 HDD, iLife (or w/e its called) 4GB of ram will, Dual GFX cards @ 256mb will put you over 5-6k WITHOUT monitor or other extras and you onily get ONE expansion Bay D:

I love how you think, Taveh x3 But still - It would be way cheaper to build a pc with simular specs. I hope noone here is dumb enough to think 'pc' and windows go hand and hand. A mac is just a 'pc' with a fancy name and an "Elitist" OS with overpriced software. ;x Its just hardware, people. :3  The main diff between a mac and a pc would be the OS. Im curious to try OSX on a built up pc myself x3

oh, I need to be more specific.  I don't like mac desktops.  x3  I want their laptop macbookpro.  : P  those you can't exactly build from the ground up easily.  x3  I want to build my own desktop this summer with linux and xp.   I really wanna learn linux so i can ditch the windows machine.  xD  like i said, its all the big name that makes things cost so much.  why do you think microsoft's stuff cost so much?  one because they took forever to make it and need to compensate loses, but its mostly the name.  just like mac and ipod.  i have an ipod.  i bought the G2 mini and when it died after two years, I got an 80 gig as a grad gift.  : P  i make my folks pay for it if i can.  x3  i know its not nice, but when I"m going through college, I'm going to mooch off them as much as I can.  ^^  of course, I'm still affectionate to them as they are my family, its not just all for my benifit.  xD

*has vista*

Vista worked great with my pc for like 2 months then stuff started...dieing and slowing down rapidly. Vista might be all cool with new features like the big clock and gadgets, glass Windows, cool looking fading windows when you close them but...damn it takes a Massive toll on your performance.

Unless you got really really good Spec and wanna run it with the compatibility problems, ignore vista it should be the last thing to buy for performance.

Plus it still has a few bugs i have seen which I'm sure other Vista users have noticed =^,^=

dunno, but its free.  ^^  and i wouldn't touch a computer with vista even with a 10 ft pool.

ok, maybe i would.  x3  *is trying to down grade some friends laptops in the near future*

sadly, I was hyped for vista when it first came out, but I soon realized its not what vista can do for you, but what you can do for vista...

I like vista because:

1. The little turn on and turn off noises are cute.
2. It runs MSN, VLC, New games and WoW, which are all I need.
3. I got a new high-quality compy for it, so I don't worry about space.

Vista has to be some sort of sick junk from Bill Gates. It has to have been the buggiest OS ive ever had the opportunity of getting frustrated at. I couldnt figure out anything when all of the icons are awkwardly placed. Its just Windows with Eyecandy, and several programming faults. My friend had Vista on his laptop, and it made it go so freaking slow. So we put XP on it, and it runs waaaay faster. It takes way too much RAM and you need a great processor to even run your computer with vista on it. Its better to either get an XP cd and build your own high-end computer, or buy a vista and install XP on it, making it a high end computer either way. i dont know if its truth or not, but ive head that they're going to stop selling XP after a few months.
Its all moved to here: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/keryth/
Ya know, me being here has a inevitable sense of irony since truthfully, I am not a furry.

haha thanks for that one. Random: Macs are overpriced for what actual performance ya get. :x

My good friend and I actually like Macs. Not for the label though; Macs are much less susceptible to viruses and spyware compared to Windows computers. I personally don't own a Mac because I like to play a lot of games on my computers, but I don't dislike them at all.

I run XP on my desktop computer and Vista on my laptop. Vista looks pretty and all, but it's currently pretty buggy in all honesty. I've had a few "system errors" now that it actually said were caused by Windows. That doesn't happen incredibly often, really.

I like XP though I think I do prefer Vista, even considering the bugs, if only for the amazing 3D tab scrolling. '<img'>

We'll see what happens when sp1 is out. Yo Metamo, how would Vista 64bit handle GFX programs vs XP?

haha wow..so that's where the mem is going. Though, if you got 8GB of RAM, Vista would be nothing. =p
