MP3 player help
« on: December 21, 2007, 06:05:11 am »
Er...my ipod is barely alive. >>; It wont hold a charge anymore and totaly defeats the purpose of being portable. Anyone got any suggestions? (must be mac compatable) Would love an fm tuner and a sexy look if possible. I care way more about audio quality than video playback. How many gigs does it take to hold at least 500 songs?

If the warranty has expired, there are tutorials on the internet for removing the old battery and replacing it yourself.  If you have the patience and basic technical skills to do this, there are dozens of pages you can find with a Google search.

I'd rather not deal with ipod again, the audio isnt really that great, bad equalizer and scratch magnet, bleh. I'm looking for something new that doesnt scratch like there is no tomarrow. BTW, its the last gen ipod video and its black - it also lives on the usb cable.

I'm using a Creative Muvo v100, 1G unit. I try never to install the crappy software that comes with MP3 players, and this one is no exception. It works just fine on my Win2k machine without extra software, and should be okay on a Mac, just plug it into the USB port. I put nearly eight hours of podcasts on it, and only half-fill the space. Music files are typically less compressed, however.

But if you want lots and lots and lots of room, that 16G model you're looking at will be more attractive.
