I have made a whole bunch of interesting purchases recently from that magical place where dreams are made, the wondrous website of eBay! The first absolutely incredible treasure that I found on eBay was a used Sony Playstation 2 game console. What's so wonderful about a used PS2, you ask? Well, this one was custom painted to look like the character "Spitfire" from the animated television series
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic! The PS2 is painted bright yellow with two bold red and orange stripes, and it has Spitfire's cutie mark painted on it! As everypony knows, Spitfire is the best Wonderbolt, so this PS2 is incredibly awesome!
My second recent eBay wonder-purchase was an original animation production cel of the character "Daisy" from the 1991 Warner Bros. animated feature film
Rover Dangerfield. What's that? You don't remember there ever being an animated feature film called "Rover Dangerfield?" Well, there's a pretty good reason for that. The movie basically stars the late stand-up comedian
Rodney Dangerfield, only in a toned-down and slightly more child-friendly cartoon dog form, and the movie is just not very good. In fact, it's pretty darn terrible. However, the protagonist dog character Rover Dangerfield naturally gets a very sexy female dog love-interest during the course of the film, a Rough Collie named "Daisy," and she's the shining diamond in this film's rough, at least for a female cartoon animal character enthusiast such as myself!
If you take a look at this screen capture of Daisy from the film you will see what I mean:
Do you see what I am talking about? She's absolutely gorgeous! The cel that I have of her shows her sitting during a night scene, and is probably from the romantic scene in the second act of the film.
The last treasure that I purchased recently on eBay was an 18-inch tall hand-made one-of-a-kind fan plush of the unicorn "Rarity" from
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. A lot of these fan-made MLP:FiM plushes seem to sell on eBay for absolutely obscene amounts of money-- for example, a hand-held size fan-made Beanie Baby-style plush of Derpy Hooves just recently sold for $461, and a large plush of the secondary character Cloud Chaser recently sold for $1,125... I myself have watched several plushes of my beloved Spitfire sell for well over $200, which is many times over my what I could ever possibly afford to spend. While Rarity is by no means my favorite character (she's not even on my personal "best ponies" list), I saw a very nice looking fan-made plush of her going for incredibly cheap on eBay. We're talking $9.99 cheap for a beautifully made 18-inch tall plush here! It was just too nice of a piece at such a low price to just let slip by, so I figured that I would place a bid on it assuming that I would get outbid and outgunned on it in a second like I always am when I bid on these kinds of things. And while there was a bit of a bidding war and I didn't win it for $9.99, miraculously I still got it for an amazingly sane price, which is such an unbelievable happening that it must be a sign of the Apocalypse or something!
And while Rarity may not be my one of my most favorite characters from the show I still think that this plush is truly awesome, and I can't wait until it arrives in the mail so that I can see it in person!
Yay me!
