Title: Time Online
Post by: Arbutus on February 25, 2009, 02:58:43 am
Hey admin types! Here's something I've been wondering for a while: if you go to your profile and look at your member statistics, you can find out exactly how much time you've spent on the Furtopia forums. I'm curious, do you know how this time is calculated? If you leave a thread open in your browser window, are you credited with being online for hours and hours and hours, or does your "time online" cut off after 15 minutes? Conversely, if I just pop in for a second to check my unread topics, am I still credited with 15 minutes of online time?

I am apparently fifth in the stats (http://forums.furtopia.org/index.php?action=stats), and I was wondering just how sad this makes me. :D

If works by the 15 min rule. The clock starts the moment to click on anything or open the board index. Then if you don't click on anything or refresh the page in 15 minutes it stops. If you do. The clock keeps going till you don't refresh/click for 15 minutes.

Yea-heah! Fourth in the rankings baby! I'm in the top 5 and ahead of Arbutus! The only non-staff member in the running, hoo-yeah!  :D

Interesting thing about the time online, through my random searching of furtopia and the member pages, some people have times that in no way are real.

I have no idea how the time system works, but I guess I'll agree with what Weisse said.

Don't get too interested in seeing who can beat who, folks. This isn't a race and shouldn't be thought of as one.

I'm... not sure how simply being online would ever count as spamming, lol. Especially not when you're a staff member.

Generally I put an auto refresh on when I'm actually at the pc (which is alot after work. Huzzah for relaxing ^^) That way I can keep an eye on things without having to do much (sometimes I leave it on though when I'm not here >_<)
