A Question and Confession

I noticed that a lot of people sign up to the forums but few really seem to introduce themselves or post. Probably because of RL things most likely. But when I myself signed up I was asked not to post in the forums untill my account had been approved by the staff and that when that happened I would recive an e-mail letting me know... I have yet to get said e-mail.

I know admins and mods on the forums can be very busy IRL and not get around to doing every little tiny thing they are supposed to do, afterall they're only human and don't get paid for being in those positions.

I was wondering if the reason that some people aren't comming to the forums to introduce themselves and post might be because they are waiting on that approval e-mail.

Please don't be angry at me.

That's what happened to me when I signed up, I was told to wait for a confirmation email before I can sign in, so I waited for the the email, not attempting to sign in... I eventually went on the IRC and asked about this, after chatting a bit I decided to try and sign in, even though I had not received an email.... voila, I was able to sign in and post.

I believe the email no longer gets sent out. It tends to catch alot of people. Occasionally someone comes on the IRC and asks about it.
I shouldn't worry. I don't know whats happening about it but it's a long known thing.

Ah I see. I'm unable to use IRC (as I'm sure a few of you have seen by my absence there) and so I just kinda nervously took my chances in making my first post.

But if it's something thats been known for awhile and the e-mail isn't even sent out then I won't worry, but still someone might want to change the 'form letter' sent out upon registration for people such as myself who can't use IRC and are otherwise too timid to just jump out there. Just a suggestion of course since that would undoubtedly take time some people may not have.

I don't know much about these emails that you may or may not be getting since I haven't been an Admin very long to answer such issues. I'll forward your concerns to WS and then he'll get back to you as soon as he can.

As far as I know when we approve an account we can "approve" or "approve and send email"
I'm assuming some of us staff may forget to make it send the email as well?
Or it's broken...
I guess WS will know more.

As for not posting even if they know they're accepted. A lot of people(myself included) will join a majority of furry sites and just let out names lie dormant.. I've joined countless forums and websites but don't really post to any of them.
