Delete account problems

Whenever I enter the mode to edit my profile, no "Action" options are available to me, which means I don't have access to the "Delete account" link. Is there any way to fix this?

Members cannot delete their own accounts. Even we staff do not delete accounts. it can be closed but that is all.

In that case, the images in the help section are misleading... Maybe I'm missing it, but skimming the help documentation seems to imply that deletion is possible.

What is entailed with closing an account?

All you have to do is PM an Admin (Kobuk, Savaaha, Prince Karo, or Blastdav) and either of us can close your account for you. If you wish to come back at a later time weeks or months later, then just contact an Admin and we can reopen the account.
