This first post willl keep up to date with new fursona image and whatnot:
So apparently I we were supposed to make one of these some time ago. I never got around to it. ^^; I'm an all white wolf pup. I'm in the IRC constantly, i'm a halfan IRCop there as well as being a watcher Moderator here.
And... I guess that's it for now. ^^;
There's a lot of things I do, i've done, and am interested in so I never know what to write. Anything you may want to know just ask.

Gah! I was soooo close to the bottom!
...Well, now that your thread's *not* so close to the bottom anymore... I have a story for you!
A few months back, my mother and sister took me to an eatery. They had been there multiple times before, but it was only my second time there. The eatery, as I failed to notice when I went there the first time, had several unusual sodas that were sold by the bottle.
They had ginger beer. I had never had one before that. I promptly ordered myself one with my meal.
Pros: It was quite tasty, and the flavor was strong.
Cons: It had a *very* strong aftertaste, even stronger than that of the flavor itself. I was only able to tolerate small sips of it.
Unexpected benefit: I was able to enjoy the taste for a longer period of time; a bottle of the size I got would otherwise be downed in only a handful of gulps.
It was interesting. It wasn't my favorite beverage (I prefer ginger ale, and probably would enjoy a ginger ale/ginger beer hybrid even more), but the experience of having it was worth it. Thanks for enlightening me about its existence!
(Also, congrats on the promotion!)
-
Congratulations Alsek! :D
*Searches a bit but only finds his tail...*
*Offers tail as congratulatory gift* (:

Awrr. ^_^
It can really depend on the brand too. Bundaberg is my favorite followed closely by Ginger people, but they taste /very/ different. Reed's is terrible.
Do you know what brand you had?
Congratulations Alsek! :D
Ty. ^_^

Congratulations :) *offers cookies*

Congratulations on the promotion Alsek.

Do you know what brand you had?
Yeah, I had this brand. (http://www.google.com)
...The autocensor censored my link (the brand name contains a word used in a non-profane context that *could* be used in a profane one).
...I'll send a PM.

Visiting Colorado currently as my parents are moving there. I love this state quite a bit.

The image isn't loading for me, even when the URL is viewed directly (I get a 404). Strangely, I thought I saw it loaded briefly; I'm not quite sure what was up with that...

Oi! That's a pain.

Heya, folks! Just wanted to give a quick heads up on what's going on with me.
I've been going to doctors for 6 years for chronic foot, joint, and sometimes muscle pain and an abundant supply of seemingly random and sporadic symptoms that come and go (but never seem to actuality permanently go away.) In addition, i'm also 65 pounds underweight and unable to ever gain any.
6 years, 11 different doctors and specialists who pretty-much say, "Well that's weird. I believe you, but I've got genuinely no idea. Good luck!"
Well, 1 week ago i went to stanford and was diagnosed with EDs type 3. ...Long story short, it's good news because it's the only condition out of all the ones considered that would not have killed me by 40. EDs type 3 will not kill me at all. However, it's also not curable. They're recomending physical therapy, pain management for flare up days, a cane, and kneebraces whilst sleeping.
So i'm now the 20 year old walking around with a cane and with joint pain. And... It's been working. It helps. I really hate having people in their 50s rushing to open the door for me, though. That part has been awkward. I am living on my own and in another state from my family now, so i haven't yet figured out how to tell them i'm using a cane from now on.
In other news, i'll be making a massive (and long term) move from California to Texas in December by car. For those of you not familiar that's basically a 1775 mile drive. That... Will be interesting. But, i'm looking very-much forward to it. I'm a Texan and I'll be moving back to be around my family and go to school.... In time for my brother's wedding. :)
Anywho, That's basically what's going on with me. ^_^
-
:o You have all that......and you're only 20?! Ouch! *hugs* Gee, and I thought getting cataracts at 43 was bad. :(
-
I feel. So sorry for you, It's unfair. You seem happy enough though. :) I hope the trip goes well, And, Enjoy the wedding ^_^
-

It's certainly not great. =\
Take care of yourself. x_x Known a handful of people who have had to go through the surgery, none quite as young though. Not a pleasent thing to go through by any means. (as you're more than aware from the first eye) Hopefully your quality of life will improve in the long run though! :D

We play the cards we're dealt. They very easily could have been a lot worse. I'm mostly just happy I got diagnosed. Was very worried about it for a long time and it's a relief to find out it is what it is.
-
Sorry to hear about your problems Alsek. It's good to keep a positive
attitude about such things. I had detached retinas in both eyes when
I was 40 with a steady, but slow loss of vision since. I know it's not
the same as dealing with pain, and using a cane, but if one gives into
physical problems you loose even more.
I had a friend with arthritis so bad he couldn't get around without
crutches, his hands looked more like claws. But he stayed active
and kept busy where many would have given up to the pain.
It really makes one appreciate good health.
Take care. :orbunny:

Good news anyone!
I've moved to Texas. I'm in the Dallas area now. I've had a 3 day drive and my brother is getting married this weekend, so i've been rather busy. Not to mention, I've also been working on moving into an apartment whilst staying at my aunt's house about 30 minutes away.
Things have been crazy.

Bad new nobody. I'm going to be semi away for 2 or so weeks on a visit to Colorado. I will only be here partially to talk with staff and to try and post where possible. However, good news anyone! I'll be spending at least a few days of that trip on a mountain in the middle of nowhere in the freezing cold enjoying the general absence of chaotic city life! This is a very calming experience that helps me get rid of a great deal of stress. I will also get to see my best friend for a few days while i'm out there.
The rest of the time i'll have internet access. Cya folks around. ^^
-
So how's your trip to Colorado? I was out there back in 1981 during summer vacation, so I probably know a lot of places out there.

My grandparents have property at 10k feet elevation in the mountains up there. ^^
90 acers to go spend a day alone in the woods FAR from any humans.

This is where i eventually decided that my species was simply wolf, and also where I decided on my name.
A few winters ago, my cousin's dogs ran out into the forest mid December. Temperatures in the daytime there are at a high of about 10 F. While no one else was able to last long looking for those dogs, I spent 8 hours in -10 to 10 degree f weather in the snow searching for them, and eventually figured out where they were. (my grandfather picked them up in his truck as they had made their way back to the road on the other side of the mountain.) This was the day I decided I was definitely a wolf. ^^;

How dare you show me pictures of trees! and snow! :o (there's boring trees in Australia and hot weather)
oh well. At least I got to look at the nice picture of trees :) I really need to get a poster or something of those sorts of trees so I can hang it on my wall :D I need like a picture book with American/Canadian evergreen type trees so I actually know what they are.
Sorry for my random tree fascination but I'm bored of gum trees. Yay! Found a useful tree identification book that I'll read though. http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/hfd/library/documents/treebook/treebook.pdf
-
I'm a wolf. I like trees and snow. I got to visit trees and snow and lope around in them for a while. <3
Therefore? Pictures! :D
The two main kinds of trees at my grandfather's place are pines and aspens. The aspens for whatever reason all seem to be in the valleys while the pines are also up at the peaks. ^___^
-
Who is this guy even?

I've noticed your name in purple whenever you're on, which means you've "transferred" to the IRC staff. And the IRC staff is still considered "Furtopia staff", so therefor, you haven't left. ;)

I didn't transfer. I was IRC staff before I was forum staff. :P
But you misunderstand dear husky. This is me stepping down completely. ^..^

It's been a month since Alsek stepped down, so I think it is time to close this thread which will remain here as a part of our staff's history.
Thanks Alsek for your time as a staff member and for helping our community. Take care.
